Having done his morning exercises, PETER checks his mobile.
PETER (V.O.): Let me read the financial news and predict today's stock market trend.
INT. MALL - MORNING
Before an ATM, Peter hits keys.
PETER (V.O.): Since mid-Sept, I've been buying stocks daily. I've to enhance my buying power.
INT. STUDY - LATER
Phone in hand, Peter taps Yahoo! Finance and reads symbols, mini charts and numbers.
PETER (V.O.): This is what I love to do now. Experience is always right.
Peter checks them carefully.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In real-world finance, see how predictive or wrong I can be.
Act 2
INT. OLE SPANISH RESTAURANT, CENTRAL - AFTERNOON
Over lunch, a FRIEND (55) passes two books and an artistic handicraft to Peter.
FRIEND: For the past few years, I've been researching on traditional cultural expressions and writing books about them.
His friend then shows Peter some video clips in his mobile.
PETER: You shot them?
FRIEND: Yes, I help market people's traditional cultural expressions.
PETER: You're not practising law anymore?
FRIEND: I just do what I love... I was inspired by you!
PETER: By me?
FRIEND: When I first met you in 2015, I thought you're leading a great life as a singer-song writer.
PETER: Oh, I had just retired and was undergoing sanitisation.
Pausing.
PETER (Cont'd): When the conditions were ripe in 2017, I began my private legal practice, for the first time.
FRIEND: I don't want to work for money. I've enough to live by.
PETER: I want to prove that I'm still competent after doing policy work for decades.
PETER (V.O.): I did love what I did, due to the impact I made.
EXT. DUDELL STREET, CENTRAL - LATER
Peter and his friend are standing by a gas lamp.
PETER: The four gas lamps mounted on either side of the granite steps are Hong Kong monuments.
FRIEND: Oh, we don't have gas lamps in the Mainland. I must come again at night to see how they're like when lit.
PETER: They're automatically lit from 6pm-6am.
PETER (V.O.): Incidentally, I'm feeling attached to these traditional lamps. I've recently become a shareholder of the Gas company!
Holding his friend's mobile, Peter directs and shoots his friend walking up and down the flights of the stone steps.
PETER (V.O.): I love shooting movies too!
INT. COURT LIBRARY - LATER
Peter is reading a book on Mental Health Law in Hong Kong.
PETER (V.O.): Another friend asked me how could she plan ahead just in case she became mentally unfit.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.): I want to relearn the subject. Helping others is also what I love to do.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The cases detail all the sad stories. Even for those who're born healthy, one won't know what will happen the next moment.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There're just many things that are beyond our control. Prediction is really difficult.
Peter finishes reading the last chapter.
Act 3

PETER (V.O.): Write 10 novels to win a Nobel prize?
Peter checks Yahoo! Finance on his mobile.

Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The smart way to predict the future is to create it.
INT. BEDROOM - LATER
Phone in hand, Peter is dictating his diary.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I do what I love too.
