FADE IN.
Act 1
INT - STUDY - MORNING
Relaxing on a sofa, PETER is having screen time.
PETER (V.O): My plan is to submit my skeleton argument of an appeal case today. But I still prefer doing something else.
Pausing.
PETER: (V.O.) (Cont'd): I know doing things doesn't mean getting things done.
Pausing.
PETER: (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yesterday was Monday, but it was a public holiday. But I shouldn't be suffering from any vacation fatigue syndrome as I attended a Webinar yesterday.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've been pondering how I can perfect the draft stuff.
Phone rings and we hear: Chambers. Peter then engages in phone conversations.
Act 2
INT - STUDY - CONTINUOUS
PETER: (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm glad that my new assignments don't clash with my schedule. I'm quite busy in Nov.
Peter turns on his laptop.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I must begin to finalize my skeleton argument.
Peter focuses on his laptop screen.
A beat.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's largely done. But the list of authorities is outstanding.
Phone rings again and we hear: Wife. Peter speaks to the phone.
PETER (To phone): No problem, I can drive you to work.
EXT. ROADS - AFTERNOON
Peter's WIFE gets inside Peter's car.
WIFE: Hi!
PETER: You must have had a happy morning with your Mom.
WIFE: Yes, we haven't met since the pandemic.
PETER: I presume she's Okay.
WIFE: Yes. She just wouldn't let the staff at the elderly home to have her blood sampled. We help by taking her to the hospital ourselves.
PETER: That's good. Now, back to work.
Peter drives off.
INT. STUDY - LATE AFTERNOON
Peter focuses on a computer screen.
PETER (V.O.): Done. That's my list of authorities.
Inserting some files, Peter sends a mail.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I don't even have to miss my swimming exercise.
EXT. SWIMMING POOL - EVENING
A few SOULS.
PETER (V.O.): The water is cool and refreshing.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My 1000 meters a day has become my routine. Now, I 've to swim faster so that I won't stay in the cool water for too long.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Days ago, I felt decrease in skin temperature, some fatigue and confusion. They're symptoms of hypothermia.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe I can cope for an hour and 15 minutes.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
Working on his laptop, Peter is also listening to TV news.
PETER (V.O.): What a change of pace from morning till night.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The little push I had this morning was really helpful. I shouldn't dwell on perfection.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Once I've got a good reason to move on and begun to act, I'd gather momentum.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Both my wife and I felt good to get some stuff done.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Another productive day.
Peter checks his phone mails.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No reply. Fair enough as I sent my stuff after 5.00 pm.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.): Let me see if any reply has gone into my junk mailbox.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, a domain name dispute settlement centre has sent me a reminder for not responding to their earlier empanelment notice.
Peter checks the email address of the earlier mail.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It did send a mail to one Peter Cheung who wasn't me. I didn't have that email address. Getting things done right is the key.
FADE OUT.
