FADE IN
Act 1
INT. SITTING ROOM - 12:00
PETER is sitting on a sofa watching TV and DAUGHTER#1 in a massage chair.
PETER (V.O.): It's a good ending.
On the TV screen, we see end credits and at the top right hand corner "Season 4, Episode 20".
PETER: Is that all?
DAUGHTER: Yes, on Netflix. You've watched dozens of episodes on Saturdays and Sundays.
PETER: You watch your favourite series then.
As soon as Peter passes the remote control, we see Japanese manga being shown on the TV screen.
PETER (V.O.): Originally, I joined her to watch "The Good Doctor". It turned out that I've got hooked to the screenplays.
Peter sees an incoming mail on his smart phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh yes, professional stuff to read and think about.
Act 2
INT. STUDY - 13:00
Peter is reading some small prints on his phone screen.
PETER (V.O.): These Hong Kong cases document the Courts' interpretations of some provisions of Hong Kong's Copyright regime.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Between 1988 and 1997, I worked on the Reform of the Law relating on Copyright.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The mission was accomplished on June 27, 1997 - just in time to avoid a possible legal laguna.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anticipating the law as it-should-be is different from applying the law as it-is.
Peter takes off his spectacles.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I enjoy formulating legal policy than doing justice between parties.
Peter is massaging his tired eyes.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've had enough of that on a Saturday afternoon.
Thinking of something. Peter surfs the web and reads the results.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): "The Good Doctor" is a US TV series based on a 2013 South Korean series of the same name.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In Autumn 2013, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) sent a delegation to visit my office.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While they're focusing on traditional cooperation on registration stuff, I marketed International IP Trading to them.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I made a business trip to KIPO in Spring 2014, they marketed Hallyu (Korean Wave) to me.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I found that the Korean creative industry was very well structured and there was a lot Hong Kong, China, has to catch up.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In Sept 2014, my wife was on a duty visit to Seoul. As a retiree, I could afford to keep her company.
Mining his Google Photos App on screen, Peter selects an image, depicting people walking near an urban stream.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The location was Seoul. It reminds me of Hallyu.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In Jan 2015, my two sons and I joined a skiing package tour to South Korea. And that was the last time I visited South Korea.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I didn't anticipate my elder daughter would establish a Korean relationship while studying in Japan.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As she's going to South Korea, my wishful thinking is visit her and those who are dear and close to her as soon as circumstances permit.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I also want to pay a tribute to a late Korean friend whom my family managed to meet just on screen shortly before he passed away.
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - 22:00
As his WIFE and SON#1 are skyping via a laptop, Peter is focusing on his phone screen.
PETER (V.O.): I must fix my professional appointment coming Monday.
Having done that Peter talks to DAUGHTER#2 and SON#2 appearing on the laptop screen.
PETER: When shall I visit South Korea?
DAUGHTER#2 (from screen): I think we'll be able to receive you around Xmas this year.
PETER: I've finished watching 76 episodes of the US version of "The Good Doctor"; and I've just begun watching the Japanese version of it!
On the laptop screen, we see son#2 gesturing thumbs-up and we hear laughter from daughter#2.
THE END
