  1. FADE IN.

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. STUDY - MORNING

  4. Holding an invitation card, PETER reads.

  5. PETER (V.O.): It's a Speech Day invitation from my alma mater secondary school.

  6. Pausing.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): HKUST has recently invited me to a virtual congregation online to minimize risks that might be brought about by large-scale events.

  8. Pausing.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Why my alma mater is celebrating the Speech Day in person?

  10. Peter reads the details of the invitation.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's a Speech Day of Classes 2019 and 2020. It didn't hold one last year, and couldn't wait this year.

  12. Recalling.

  13. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): First, the human disruption, and then the natural pandemic. Should I accept or decline?

  15. INT. SKYLINE TOWER - LATER

  16. Peter in suit is standing and turning around in front of a smart sanitizing station.

  17. PETER (V.O.): How convenient it is to disinfect myself, at least on the surface! What a welcoming facility!

  18. Then, Peter is excited to see a moving robot disinfecting the carpet tirelessly.

  19. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I believe it's driven by artificial intelligence. The world needs robots to deal with public hygiene chores.

  20. Peter takes a few photos of the cleaning robot.

  21. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The management here makes a real difference!

  22. Recalling.

  23. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): If I was still working in the housing management sector, I won't hesitate to provide such customer-friendly services.

  24. INT. MALL - LUNCH TIME

  25. Peter and his SON arrive in a Chinese restaurant. A RECEPTIONIST greets them.

  26. PETER: Do you have a table for two?

  27. RECEPTIONIST: Yes!

  28. As they're being led inside, Peter and his son walk past tables and tables of customers.

  29. PETER (V.O.): It's quite crowded.

  30. SON: Coming here once is enough...

  31. PETER (V.O.): Oh, my son respects my choice. But one mistake can be too much in these pandemic days!

  32. Immediately, Peter signals to the receptionist in front that they want to walk out.

  33. PETER: It's embarrassing. But we've to act timely to respond to our health concern.

  34. SON: When I see the crowd here, I recall the news that Chinese restaurants could be venues of super-spreading events.

  35. PETER: Yes, I can also visualize how unhappy and uncomfortable if we stayed put, eating in a rather exposed and risky environment.

  36. Exiting the Chinese restaurant, they walk past a fast-food chain restaurant with few customers.

  37. PETER: Is this one OK?

  38. SON: Looks good.

  39. PETER: If it's OK with you as a doctor-to-be, it must be OK for me.

  40. Passing through a temperature-check machine, they do their orders and find their socially-distanced seats.

  41. INT. PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL - LATE AFTERNOON

  42. Peter swims towards the pool wall. Seeing other swimmers resting there, Peter turns around.

  43. PETER (V.O): It's my incident response in the social-distancing context.

  44. Peter continues to swim to the other end of the pool where there're fewer souls.

  45. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Whereas robots need artificial intelligence, mine is inherent.

  46. Resting in a corner, Peter stares at the pool water.

  47. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The 4th wave of COVID-19 infection has arrived. Hong Kong's travel bubble has already burst.

  48. Pausing.

  49. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I still hope that public swimming pools won't close again. I swim 1000 meters everyday to keep fit.

  50. Act 3

  51. INT. STUDY - EVENING

  52. The TV is telling stories about COVID-19 vaccination.

  53. PETER (V.O): After getting regulatory authorities' approvals of the vaccines, the next hurdles are their production and distribution.

  54. Picking up the Speech Day invitation card, Peter reads.

  55. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): While there's a notice at the bottom about the unlikely Red/Black Rainstorm and Typhoon Signal No.8 incidents, the 4th wave of COVID-19 infection isn't foreseen.

  56. Pausing.

  57. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): From the public hygiene perspective, there's no reason I should support it, particularly as a senior citizen.

  58. Peter surfs the web with his phone.

  59. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Oh, there're 80 new COVID-19 cases today. I'd better help prevent any COVID-19 spreading incident from happening.

  60. Using QR Code to fill in a Google form, we see Peter checking "No" in an option.

  61. FADE OUT.

  62. THE END
