Act 1
INT. HOME - DAY
Dim. Howling winds and heavy rain battered the outside. KAJI is resting in a massage chair.
KAJI (V.O.): All day inside.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): No walk in the park, no car ride to unfamiliar places.
Kaji sniffs the air deeply.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Just inside.
Kaji watches the PACK LEADER and PETER as they sit on a sofa, engrossed in the TV.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But home is a haven - dry and warm.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. RIVERSIDE PARK - AFTERNOON (Yesterday)
The soothing sound of gentle water mingles with the cheerful song of birds. Kaji trots slightly ahead of the Pack Leader and Peter.
KAJI (V.O): I love the scent of water and the warmth of the sun-kissed grass.
Kaji sniffs with focused intensity.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Pleasant aromas, rich and profound.
The Pack Leader and Peter strolls leisurely behind Kaji.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Today, we come out much earlier than usual, and I've extra time...
EXT. ROADS - EVENING
Sounds of car engine. Sitting on the lap of the Pack Leader, Kaji watches the moving scenes, lost in thought.
KAJI (V.O): We've gone to the riverside park and returned home. After Peter have spent time with the turtle, we venture out again.
Pondering.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): What a delightful surprise? But why?
Later, sound of car-engine idling and shutting off. The Pack Leader alights. Peter lowers all the windows.
PETER: Let me share the scent of Yuen Long with you. I thought I knew it well, but now it feels quite new.
Kaji climbs onto Peter's lap to join him.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Trust built through routines like car rides, lap sitting.
Later, Kaji notices the Pack Leader returning with bags of food in her hands.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Wow, the aroma is great. But I only eat at home.
As the car moves again, the sky growles, the air tastes electric, and big raindrops hit its metal surface.
PETER: I'm relieved we aren't outside.
Kaji settles deeply into the Pack Leader's laps.
PACK LEADER: I won't let our darling run on the wet grass when we get to our NT home.
PETER: Let her run up and down the stairs instead.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): What?
Peter reaches out to feel Kaji's body.
PACK LEADER: She won't tremble when I'm cradling her in my lap.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I'm not afraid now.
PETER: I'm content with her condition.
PACK LEADER: It'd be very different if she were home alone right now, as she wouldn't know if the end is near.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): My sanctuary has been the corner of the sofa.
The thunder rumbles loudly, accompanied by brilliant flashes of lighning.
RETURN TO PRESENT
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): They filled yesterday with Joy...because they knew today would roar.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Storms whisper truths: even foxes need dens. Because they knew.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I must admit I fear storms. I dread facing them alone.
Act 3
INT. HOME - NIGHT
Kaji relaxes on a sofa, with Peter seated beside her.
KAJI (V.O): They anticipate my needs. A storm reveals what love prepared in silence.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): True love is proactive care, forging unshakable trust and understanding that offer profound comfort and security, even in the storm.
Reflecting.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I see sideways. Humans see forward. But in the storm, we see the same thing: Home.
