FADE IN.
Act 1
EXT - PARK SIDE - AFTERNOON
KAJI, the PACK LEADER and PETER observe two birds on the ground near them.
KAJI (V.O.): Shouldn't they be hiding somewhere? What are they doing here?
PACK LEADER: I've seen some elderly people feeding them here.
PETER: They aren't slim. They're smart.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): So, they're patrolling and guarding their turf.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've the urge to chase them. Can I catch two birds with one hunt?
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
Kaji brings a tennis ball to Peter.
KAJI (V.O.): Let's play the fetching game!
PETER: Okay!
Peter throws the ball in the air. Kaji jumps up to catch it in mid-air with her mouth.
PETER (Cont'd): Well done!
Peter throws the ball in the air again.
KAJI (V.O.): This time, I intend to shoot it with my nose.
We see the ball flying away.
PETER: Brilliant "noser"!
Smiling.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let's play again!
They repeat the games.
RETURN TO PRESENT
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): We played the two games, but at different times.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): How can I do two things at the same time?
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm a Shiba Inu! Let me just do it!
Getting Kaji's cue, the two birds fly away,
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): What a shame!
ACT 3
EXT. PARK SIDE - CONTINUOUS
Watching the birds' flight path, Kaji, the Pack Leader and Peter see their landings on a tree branch far away.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): If they put up a fight, I'd use my mouth to catch and my nose to bump at the same time.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But they're so afraid of me that they've retreated before my attack.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Instead of chasing them away from their turf one bird at a time, I've succeeded in driving away two birds with one cue.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But when I become old, I may feed them, at least with one corn...
FADE OUT.
THE END
