FADE IN.
Act 1
EXT. ROADS - DAY
Being put inside a car, KAJI gets to the driver seat.
KAJI (V.O.): I like this seat with a steering wheel. The driver directs where the car should go.
PACK LEADER: Come back to the passenger seat.
Kaji lets PETER take her spot.
Kaji sticks her head outside the window as Peter pulls off the car.
KAJI (V.O.): The air is so refreshing. I love it.
Reflecting.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Can I run in the air and go wherever I like?
Observing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Things outside are running away from me as if they're about to fly.
Smelling.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): A familiar scent...
Peter parks the car by the roadside.
PETER: Arrived.
Act 2
EXT. PET GARDEN - DAY
Following Kaji, the pack leader and Peter enter.
KAJI (V.O.): It's our third time here, I won't make any mistake like the last time. I know the way now.
They pass through one gate after another,
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): First things first.
Searching for her favourite spots, Kaji arrives at a corner.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, this is it.
Kaji wastes no time to obey the calls of nature with style as the pack leader stays ready to follow up.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Done! Now, I'll meet and greet my friends!
As she runs here and there, Kaji is also being chased by her FRIENDS from time to time.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Don't get wild...we're playing, not fighting or flirting...
Near a bench, a STRANGER (20s) wants to offer Kaji something and speaks to Peter and the pack leader.
STRANGER: It's duck meat...
Peter, the pack leader, and Kaji all focus on the meat.
PACK LEADER: She doesn't take anything except at home.
The stranger offers Kaji the meat and Kaji smells it.
KAJI (V.O.): Smells different. Is it from the water or the air? Anyway, I only eat at home.
STRANGER: Oh, she doesn't take it.
PACK LEADER: Although she likes to eat very much at home, she just wouldn't eat when she's away from home.
The party dismisses. After a few ball games with friends, Kaji jumps up to sit on a bench, thinking.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I've no inclination to eat away from home.
Reflecting.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I live in a piece of the sky and not at home, I'll eat nothing.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): And I know how hungry it is like on a Sunday morning when my maid is on leave and the pack leader wakes up late.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): That means to say I can't live in the air.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I live in the air, I'll be starving to death. Oh! No!
Act 3
EXT. ROADSIDE - DAY
After the car is parked, the pack leader leaves her seat and Kaji jumps to the middle row.
KAJI (V.O.): Here is roomier than the front row.
Peter lowers all the car windows and opens the sunroof.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can hear the birds talking to each other. Where are they?
Kaji listens attentively as she observes the scenes and activities outside.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): The bird talks like singing to each other. My friends would only bark, bullying one another at times.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): More importantly, the birds can fly.
Pondering.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I doubt I can fly. I don't have wings and am fat too.
Kaji looks tired.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Meanwhile, let me have a nap and dream about flying high first.
Kaji is dozing off, jerking a little.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh I feel a fall...
FADE OUT.
