  3. Act 1

  4.

  5. INT. BEDROOM - MORNING

  6. A silver of pale blue light cuts through a gap in the curtains. KAJI is already awake in bed.

  7. KAJI (V.O.): Breakfast with Peter first.

  8. Kaji glances at PETER - a lump under the duvert.

  9. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): After breakfast, we'll play Fetch and Tug-of-War. I've many toys.

  10. Kaji takes a look of the PACK LEADER sleeping beside her.

  11. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): After the games, the Pack Leader will serve me lunch. I'll take naps afterwards.

  12. Pondering.

  13. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): And in the late afternoon, we should have walks in the riverside park and the waterfront park.

  14. Kaji begins to whine. Peter stirs.

  15. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): First thing first.

  16. Act 2

  17. INT. RIVERSIDE PARK - LATE AFTERNOON

  18. Golden hour. The sun hangs low. Kaji trots a head on a loose leash. The Pack Leader and Peter follow her.

  19. KAJI (V.O.): The sun is warm but not pushy. The best time.

  20. Her nose works hard.

  21. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): A library of scents: pee-mails from earlier visitors.

  22. She scans the park.

  23. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Humans are relaxed.

  24. A SHIBA INU bounces near her.

  25. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Shibas are complicated.

  26. Kaji doesn't engage him.

  27. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Too much like looking in a mirror.

  28. But then she sees a POODLE observing the passers-by with his MASTER on a bench.

  29. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): He's a good-looking guy. I must join him.

  30. Kaji jumps onto the bench, approaches slowly and politely. The Pack Leader and Peter follow her lead. The Poodle's master smiles.

  31. MASTER: Hi there, beautiful.

  32. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Soft tone. All good.

  33. She smells the air near the Poodle. Her posture is relaxed but not submissive.

  34. PACK LEADER: What a handsome fellow. How old is he?

  35. MASTER: He's sixteen.

  36. The Pack Leader's eyes widen.

  37. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): A senior. He knows things. I've to respect that.

  38. PACK LEADER: Sixteen! What's your secret?

  39. MASTER: Fewer treats, and more exercises. Meanwhile, we've to continue our walk,

  40. Kaji freezes as they leave.

  41. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I won't follow his path.

  42. Pausing.

  43. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wisdom is different: enjoy the sun and smells, enjoy the treats and the massage chair.

  44. EXT. WATERFRONT PARK - EVENING

  45. DOGS and HUMANS move like figures in a beautiful, slow-moving dream. Kaji poses on a bench.

  46. KAJI (V.O.):  A walk in the golden light makes me see two things more clearly: the path ahead, and why I'm on it.

  47. Kaji, the Pack Leader and Peter share the golden silence.

  48. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Golden hour doesn't ask me to be productive. It only asks me to be present - a bargain I gladly accept.

  49. Kaji allows a PASSER-BY to pat her head.

  50. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Golden hour is kind to wrinkles - on faces, on water, on paths well-travelled.

  51. Kaji watches a GOLDEN RETRIEVER walking past.

  52. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Shadows grow long not to threaten, but to remind me that even the light needs rest.

  53. Act 3

  54. EXT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

  55. Kaji nestles in bed, surrounded by the comfortable duwert.

  56. KAJI (V.O.): If the morning is for plans and the rest of the day is for actions, then the golden hour is for remembering why.

  57. Thinking.

  58. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): My humans walk slower in golden light. I allow this. It gives me more time to inspect the important things: grass, legacy.

  59. Reflecting.

  60. KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Golden hour walks are less about reaching destination and more about travelling through a moment made of light - one the holds me gently before letting go.
