Kaji: In Earnest
FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SITTING ROOM - AFTERNOON
KAJI hears: "Kai Kai!"
KAJI (V.O.): It's from Peter. Where's he?
Following the sound source, Kaji sees PETER sitting in a sofa directing a handheld device at her.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, a trick.
As she turns away from Peter, Kaji hears Peter saying Kai Kai again. Kaji returns a sincere and intense look at him.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Are you joking? I'm in earnest though.
Then, Kaji sees Peter leaving home.
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
KAJI (V.O.): I'm home alone. again.
Then, Kaji hears sounds. As the door opens, she sees the PACK LEADER returning home.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Peter said: Kai Kai!
As Kaji whines, the Pack Leader shows Kaji's her harness.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Our Kai Kai begins in earnest now.
FLASHBACK
INT. SITTING ROOM - EVENING (Yesterday)
Kaji sees the Pack Leader and Peter leaving home.
KAJI (V.O.): Why don't you two go Kai Kai with me as usual?
Later, Kaji sees them returning with GUESTS.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, its party time! I can't wait to welcome them, like I do to my friends at the pet garden.
Kaji climbs on them. Then GUESTS#1 and #2 give treats to her.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I get the treats so easily!
Kaji eats them.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Whether I'm deserving doesn't matter.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I earnestly hope the Pack Leader doesn't mind.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT.SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
The Pack Leader, Peter and Kaji appear in front of a computer screen.
KAJI (V.O.): I'm not keen to join. I can't smell the scent of those on screen.
Kaji takes a look of the Pack Leader and Peter.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But they set up the meeting in earnest.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I see! They go Kai Kai by meeting those on screen!
