Act 1
INT. HOME - DAY
Sunlight streams through the window, casting patches of light across the room. KAJI is resting on a plush sofa.
KAJI (V.O.): The lazy afternoon envelops me.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Peter has just returned, yet I find myself unwilling to make an effort to welcome him back.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The homecoming moment feels unremarkable, lost in the mundane rhythm of our lives.
Peter sits beside Kaji.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I prefer to stay in my own space, lost in my thoughts, letting the silence linger between us.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I find clarity and enjoys the freedom of not engaging.
Act 2
INT. HOME - LATE AFTERNOON
The Pack Leader returns, but Kaji stands firm in her defiance of the expectation to greet her.
PACKLEADER: Let me cheer you up!
The Pack Leader dangles a giant treat. She holds it with playful anticipation, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.
KAJI (V.O): I'm not excited.
PETER: Skipping a treat?
PACK LEADER: Yeeterday, she savoured one for half an hour.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): No treat tastes better than the air in the park.
Kaji gazes at the Pack Leader and Peter.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): The park is calling.
EXT. RIVERSIDE PARK - LATER
Kaji trots ahead of the Pack Leader and Peter, her tail curled with excitment.
KAJI (V.O): Every walk to the riverside park is the same. And yet, it's never the same.
Kaji sniffs the ground, marking her territory in her usual way.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): The park represents freedom, adventure, and connection - things that no treat can replace.
Kaji glances back at the Pack Leader and Peter who strolls leisurely behind her.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): The park smells like possibilities. A treat is just regret in a wrapper.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): First, the important business...Then...the throne.
Having transacted her important business, Kaji spots PEOPLE sitting on benches.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): My usual spots are taken.
PACK LEADER: Want to sit on the bench again?
Kaji leads the Pack Leader and Peter down the path, gazing at each occupied bench.
PETER: I see an empty one at the far end of the Park.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): They understand me.
Arriving at the vacant bench, Kaji leaps up, and sits like a queen surveying her kingdom.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Victory...
The Pack Leader and Peter collapse onto Kaji's bench. They exchanges glances.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): But there's no grass on the ground here,
Observing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Only noisy traffic behind us.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): This...isn't it.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I'll reclaim my throne next time.
The Pack Leader rubs her head.
Act 3
INT. HOME - NIGHT
Kaji rests in a massage chair.
KAJI (V.O): To me, it's always park before treat.
Thinking.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): The best treats are wind in my fur, earth under my paws, and a bench with a view.
Reflecting.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): The park isn't a place. It's the "click" when the world fits my paws just right.
FADE OUT
