Kaji: Smile a Lot

Act 1

INT. PET GARDEN - AFTERNOON

Arriving, KAJI avoids the howling SHIBA INUs.

KAJI (V.O.): Not the right time to get my attention. I've the urge to pee.

As soon as the PACK LEADER releases the leash, Kaji runs towards the lawn.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I won't bother to find a nice spot this time.

Squatting, Kaji begins to pee, Kaji stares at the PACK LEADER and PETER at times.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): They ensure naughty boys wont' bother me.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): When peeing, the boys always raise a leg. I don't know why?

Act 2

FLASHBACK

INT. HOME - NIGHT

Lifting both of her hind legs against a low vertical partition, Kaji begins to pee.

KAJI (V.O.): At home, I pee in the handstand position. That has been my style since I was a little girl.

The waiting MAID cleans for Kaji.

END FLASHBACK

KAJI (V.O.): Here, there's no vertical support. I just squat and pee. That's natural to me.

A BOY Shiba Inu then runs near to sniff Kaji's rear end. Kaji responds casually.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't think we've met before. And I'm in the mood to play with you.

Kaji walks away, But the Boy follows.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Don't bother me. Leave me alone!

As the Boy doesn't listen, Kaji jumps onto a bench to sit. Frustrated, the Boy goes elsewhere.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm the only pet user here who would sit on a bench.

Thinking.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Here's a pet garden, right?

Joining Kaji on the bench, Peter takes a photo her.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Do I look happy?

Checking the image, Peter looks proud.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today, all the users here are of the Shiba Inu breed.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Do we have to hunt each other?

Resting on the bench with Peter, Kaji lifts her mouth corners slightly.

ACT 3

INT. PET GARDEN - CONTINUOUS

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): My tail is so curled that I can't wag my tail to express my emotions.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): For the past couple of days, I'm particularly happy.

Recalling.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): While we come here more often, the Pack Leader and the Gang gave me very delicious treats.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't know why they change the practice. Am I look more cute than before?

Kaji lifts her mouth corners slightly again.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Little by little, I smile a lot.

FADE OUT.
