Kaji: Wild Logic

FADE IN.

Act 1

INT. SLEEPING ROOM - NIGHT

As PETER is getting something from a table, KAJI stares at him.

KAJI (V.O.): Anything for me?

Peter looks back at Kaji.

PETER: Nothing, nothing.

KAJI (V.O.): I hear your prompt reply. It sounds negative and unrewarding.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.): I won't waste my energy waiting for nothing here.

Kaji leaves.

Act 2

INT. DINING ROOM - DAY

Peter puts food on the table. Kaji waits anxiously around.

KAJI (V.O.): I can smell it. Food, delicious food.

Peter points at a dining chair. Kaji promptly jumps up and sits in it.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I understand you. I know you'll reward me in a second.

In a second, Peter passes Kaji a piece of bread.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Peter, I'd like to have some more.

Observing Kaji's focused posture, Peter passes her another piece of bread.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, you get my message.

Having swallowed it in no time, Kaji continues to stare at Peter.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): You know I still want some more...

Having put another piece of bread near Kaji's nose, Peter withdraws it. He then puts the piece of bread near his own nose.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh, how cruel you're!

Peter smiles wickedly.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): You're kidding me.

Kaji looks away from Peter.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've to let him know the consequences of his naughty behaviour.

Seeing Kaji's cues, Peter quickly passes the piece of bread back to Kaji to eat.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): By repeating my cues, Peter can understand me although I don't speak like him.

Kaji finishes the food.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Does he know my wild logic that it's uncertain if I'd have my next meal?

Kaji looks around the environment.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): There's nothing I can hunt here, except the food on the table.

Act 3

INT. DINING ROOM - CONTINOUS

They finish all the food on the table.

PETER: Finished. Nothing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Got your negative cues. I won't waste my energy to wait here for nothing.

Kaji jumps down from her chair.

INT. SLEEPING ROOM - NIGHT

Entering Peter and then Kaji. Peter puts something near Kaji's nose.

KAJI (V.O.): Hmm, you've learned to prepare something for me.

As Peter gets his stuff from the table, Kaji licks her lips and leaves without waiting.

FADE OUT.
