Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - 10:00
Getting out of bed, PETER sees Kaji, the family pet, is still sleeping in bed.
PETER (V.O.): Has Kaji adapted to our Chinese New Year practice too?
Opening a wardrobe drawer, Peter sees new pairs of socks.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I bought them in a shop in Hongdae District in Seoul. I love their colours.
Peter takes out a new pair.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'll wear this pair today.
Checking the pair, Peter sees a slogan: It's lucky to do what u can do.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's insightful - exactly what I feel.
Happily, Peter puts on the pair of socks.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We're resuming a New Year gathering this afternoon.
Act 2
INT. DINING ROOM - LATER
Two plates of fried Chinese carrot cakes are put on the table.
PETER: Which is the one made by our elder son's mother-in-law-to-be?
Peter's wife points at the plate near to Peter.
WIFE: The one further away from you is made by my sister.
Peter & FAMILY begin eating.
PETER: One is lumpy and the other is soft. They both taste very good.
WIFE: The ready-made ones can't be compared with the home-made ones.
PETER: What's done with love is always done well.
WIFE: Our elder daughter has sent us an image of a lai-see she got from her boyfriend's Mom.
Peter's wife shows the image to Peter to see.
PETER: It's sophisticated. The lucky bag device is red.
PETER (Cont'd): It has never occurred to me my family member would get a Korean lai-see.
WIFE: Incidentally, I've forgotten how many unmarried children has your elder cousin got?
PETER: I believe they're still unmarried.
WIFE: Oh no, I meant your younger cousin.
PETER: I recall we went to one of her children's wedding banquet.
EXT/INT - RELATIVE#1'S HOME - AFTERNOON
As Peter & FAMILY arrive, they see a welcoming PARTY waiting at the garden entrance.
PETER: Happy New Year to all! I must confess I can't recognize all.
RELATIVE: The new faces are my children's boyfriend or girlfriend.
Later, Peter sees MAN#1 and MAN#2 greeting him.
PETER (V.O.): I recognize one well, but not the other.
MAN#1: He's my elder son.
PETER (to Man#2): Are you taller than your Dad?
MAN#2: A little.
FLASHBACK
INT. RELATIVE#2'S HOME - NIGHT (YESTERDAY)
A WOMAN is talking to Peter, referring to his younger DAUGHTER nearby.
WOMAN: I couldn't recollect who she is.
PETER: Everything changes visually as it ages.
END FLASHBACK
INT. PETER'S MUM'S HOME - EVENING
Peter is chatting with his SISTER, BROTHER-IN-LAW, and BROTHER in the presence of his MUM (92).
BROTHER (to Peter): There's one thing Mum doesn't like about you now - your hair is whiter than hers.
Peter is at a lost for words.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - 23:00
Smart phone in hand, Peter is checking the image of a packet in Korean.
PETER (V.O.): What do those larger Korean characters mean?
Using another smart phone's Google Translate camera to focus on them, Peter sees: Love It.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To love and be loved is to feel the heart from both sides. To love is what one can do.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In love, one becomes courageous and energetic. With such support, anything is possible!
Peter sees Kaji jumping up onto the bed and preparing for her sleeping spot.
THE END
