FADE IN.
Act 1
DREAM SEQUENCE
EXT. NORTH DISTRICT, NT - DAY
PETER appears near a bus terminus.
PETER (V.O.): As I'm waiting for the next bus, I might as well explore the vicinity.
Peter walks past places with avant garde decorations.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh, the district has become so modern and colourful.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I've been here for awhile. I had better go back to the bus terminus.
Waiting, Peter sees two SMART-looking KMB buses.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh, such small buses! What's the point of carrying just one passenger?
Act 2
EXT. NORTH DISTRICT, NT - CONTINUOUS
Peter watches one bus is being parked.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh, too close...
Peter sees the bus bumping into another, causing no damage.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Good... Should I go to the toilet first?
END DREAM SEQENCE.
INT. BEDROOM - MORNING
Waking up, a sleep-walk Peter goes to the toilet. Soon, he returns to bed and sleeps on.
DREAM SEQUENCE
EXT. NT ROADS - DAY
On board a bus, Peter watches the scenery.
PETER (V.O.): I'm leaving my mother's step-mother's living district to my old NT home.
As Tai Tau Shan comes into sight, Peter looks excited.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Apart from me, who would know its other name is Nipple Mountain 乳峰山?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh, I can even see clearly and distinctly the stuff at the mountain top.
Focusing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There's an inflated cushion. Are the Observatory people doing an experiment up there?
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): At the mountain base lie my late Grandpa 張南 and two of his three wives: 李四 and 黄有.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Grandma 李四 was my dearest maternal Grandma.
Suddenly, a middle-aged nice-looking WOMAN appears from the middle of nowhere.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She's my mother's step-mother 張四.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My mother's maternal mother died young. Her paternal widower father 麥偉 paid visits to my family from time to time.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My Grandpa's home in Central was the hub for all the Cheung family's visiting relatives including 張四.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Later on, 麥偉 and 張四 married. As a result, I've an uncle younger than me.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): But my new Grandma 張四 died over 10 years ago...
RETURN TO PRESENT
INT. BEDROOM - MORNING
Peter wakes up again to check the time.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, it's 9:47. I haven't slept this late to allow for two linked dreams.
Peter then takes a look at KAJI, the family pet, which is disappointingly quiet at his feet.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As your 10:00 o'clock brunch is coming up, I'll skip our breakfast today.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.): Does my unconscious mind generate the vivid images to let me aware of my repressed deepest wants? Are they magically symbolic?
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I take random dream sequences, including colourful ones, as meaningless.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The reason being that if they're really that magically symbolic to help the dreamer prepare what's next, the natural design wouldn't let us forget them that easily.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In our waking lives, we're addicted to behaviours that it's virtually impossible to unlearn them.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Dreams are only dreams.
FADE OUT.
THE END
