  3. INT. HOTEL ROOM - NIGHT

  4. Sitting in bed. PETER is working on a laptop.


  5. PETER (V.O.): What a nice Day 1 to begin with.


  6. FLASHBACK


  7. INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY (EARLIER)


  8. Peter is packing.


  9. WIFE: It has been a long time...


  10. PETER: (V.O.): Yes, the last time was in Dec 2019.


  11. PETER: When will we set off?


  12. WIFE: At 2.00pm.


  13. Exits Peter.


  14. Act 2


  15. INT. STUDY - LATER


  16. Peter turns off a computer.


  17. PETER (V.O.): I always like to do something first before rewarding myself with something.


  18. Peter grabs his phone.


  19. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today is May 5 of the traditional Chinese calendar. It's the Dragon Boat Festival and a public holiday in Hong Kong.


  20. Peter sees lots of notifications.


  21. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My friends and the chat groups are exchanging greetings.


  22. Recalling.


  23. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've written songs for all the important Chinese festivals.


  24. Peter checks YouTube.


  25. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've found it. It's a trilingual one.


  26. We see on his phone screen a video clip entitled: 五月五 Celebrate the Festival 淡淡問候.


  27. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I wrote it before I began my private practice. Among my song, I quite like this one.


  28. Copying the link, Peter sends it to his friends and other chat groups.


  29. EXT. HOTEL - LATER


  30. Entrance. Peter, his wife and KAJI, their pet, arrive in their Previa, leaving it to a valet.


  31. INT. HOTEL ROOM - LATER

  32. Inside a pet-friendly harbour-view room, Peter and his wife look very pleased, but Kaji is perplexed.

  33. WIFE: At last, we're taking her to have a staycation in a hotel.


  34. PETER: I believe she might feel at home as we're with her.


  35. Peter and his wife begin to treat Kaji as their photo model. Kaji isn't amused.


  36. WIFE: Let's go out and have a walk.


  37. EXT. WEST KOWLOON CULTURAL DISTRICT - LATER


  38. Peter, his wife and Kaji are strolling.


  39. PETER (V.O.): I couldn't remember some of the lyrics of my May 5th song.


  40. Playing the song, Peter puts his phone very close to his ear.


  41. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I began with the Cantonese lyrics. Then I thought about my friend Malcolm and wrote some lyrics in English.


  42. Pausing.


  43. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And then I thought about my friends in Canada and in Beijing and wrote some Mandarin lyrics.


  44. Reflecting.


  45. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I wrote the melody and the lyrics with heart.


  46. Seeing a WOMAN sitting alone at the embankment, Peter includes her in a photo.


  47. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Exchanging greetings seems light, but those without heart won't even do that.


  48. Pausing.


  49. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And I don't know if I can write another song as good as that.


  50. Exits the party.

  52. EXT. SWIMMING POOL - LATER


  53. A wet-haired Peter takes a selfie.


  54. PETER (V.O.): The facilities are basic. But this's the first time I've swum in a 76/F swimming pool!


  55. INT. HOTEL ROOM - LATER


  56. Peter and his wife are enjoying room service as Kaji looks on.

  57. PETER: It seems that she'd like to have some of our food.


  58. WIFE: No.


  59. Later, Peter gives her a little bit under the table.


  60. PETER (V.O.): It should be her day,


  61. RETURN TO PRESENT


  62. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Looking forward to Day 2.
