FADE IN
Act 1
INT. LIVING ROOM - 09:45
Sunlight streams in. The MAID hands PETER a small, unopened cardboard box and a receipt. A smile spreads across Peter's face.
PETER (V.O.): Awesome! My "M7" smartphone has arrived right on schedule: Nov 11.
Peter glances at the receipt: Poco M7 in blue, 8GB RAM, 256GB ROM for HK$1099.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Thanks to the Nov 11 promotion, I only paid HK$949.
After unwrapping the cardboard, Peter snaps a photo of the Model M7.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): About 10 days ago, I purchased my first budget phone, the Poco C85, for HK$649.
Peter glances at the sleek, stylished purple phone sitting next to him.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My experience using it has completely changed my perception of budget phones.
Peter unboxes the blue model M7.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's the M7...

PETER (V.O.): The Magnificient Seven. M7 for short. I coined us
RETURN TO PRESENT
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We're from different service sectors. We met monthly to share our work experiences and discussed ways to do better.
Peter smiles, a private, pleased smile. He begins to set up his model M7
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Why not transfer the data from my iPhone 8+ Pro Max to this model M7.
FLASHBACK
INT. HANEDA AIRPORT - AFTERNOON (21 Sept 2025)
Domestic terminal. Peter's wife receives a message, reads it, and shares the news with Peter.
WIFE: The Airline has advised that our scheduled flight back to Hong Kong in two days is likely to be cancelled due to the approaching super typhoon.
Peter looks weary.
PETER Since we've just returned from Wakkanai and are at the Airport, why not go ahead and rearrange our return flight to Hong Kong now?
Ticketing counter. After seeking assistance from the Airline STAFF, Peter and his wife wait in a seating area.
PETER (Cont'd): I've double-checked, and postponing our return by two days still works for my tight schedule.
Peter sets his iPhone 8+ beside him while still wearing his iPhone 12 Pro Max. Soon, a staff MEMBER approaches and hands them their newly printed air tickets.
EXT. TOKYO MONORAIL - LATER
While sitting in the cabin, Peter suddenly begins to frantically search his handbag.
PETER (V.O.): Where's my iPhone 8+ Pro Max? I use it for professional communications.
RETURN TO PRESENT
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In Japan, things can only be temporarily misplaced. That's one of the reasons why my wife and I love to visit it so much.
After using Google Switch to connect the phones, Peter places the iPhone 8+ Pro Max and the model M7 side by side as they begin to communicate and transfer data.
INT. LIVING ROOM - 22:00
Peter sits next to his WIFE, who has her laptop open.
PETER (V.O.): Last night, we booked a round-trip: Hong Kong - Asashikawa to see the Snow Festival there in early Feb 2026.
His wife clicks scheduled flights on screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We're booking another round trip: Hong Kong - Sapporo to see cherry blossoms in late April 2026.
We see confirmations.
PETER: All done! That's fantastic - the promotion ends today!
Peter gives a slow, deep, contented smile.
PETER (V.O.): During dinner earlier, I've used my budget phones to research and book my solo trip for Nov to see red leaves near my ancestors' home in Guangdong.
Peter glances at his model M7 again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Xiaomi designed the M7 to be efficient. I use it to be free. Freedom from clutter, from complication, from living in anyone's shadow - even my own.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Others see a budget phone. I see a pocket-sized monument to seven men who thought they could conquer the world. And for a while, they did.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - 22:30
Peter uploads a photo of a parcel featuring the model M7 imprinted on it to a draft on his laptop.
PETER (V.O.): I originally intended to buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but I'm talking myself out of it as I've already bought the one whose model number feels like an old friend waving from across the room.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):The M7 isn't for looking back. It's for carrying a proud past into a peaceful present and booking the next adventure.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the circuitry of the M7, I find an echo: that the most magnificient systems aren't silicon, but of spirit.
