Act 1
INT. STUDY - MORNING
Phone in hand, PETER checks Quora notifications.
PETER (V.O.): What's the best decision I've made in 2021 so far?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today is the 2nd Monday of 2021.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Last Monday, I went to court to read dozens of files, preparing for my Tuesday court hearings.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I had two trials last Wednesday. One was part-heard and was adjourned to last Friday.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Last Thursday, I did long hours of voluntary work for HKUST.
Act 2
INT. STUDY - CONTINUOUS
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And last week, a learned friend asked me to share some trade secret in criminal practice.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): In fact, I've been thinking of making what is implicit in my head explicit. And since last Saturday, I've been documenting the trade secret.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Once I've started doing that, I want to refine it to make it richer. This is my best decision in 2021 so far.
Having typed his answer on the phone, Peter is planning again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was so busy last week that I'd to put aside many other things.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I need to go to my NT home's management office to collect new car labels for entry and exit.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I need to jump-start my red sports car and change its battery before driving it to NT.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I also wish to declutter my NT home. I want to arrange the dumping of a cupboard on the G/F and a safe on the 1/F.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But the management would only collect the stuff in my NT home's front garden. And I'm always alone in my NT home.
MONTAGE OF PETER'S ACTIONS
A. At home, Peter finishes his takeaway lunch.
B. At a car park, Peter jumpstarts a red sports car.
C. Outside a car battery shop, a TRADESMAN is replacing the battery of Peter's car.
D. At a lake-side management office, Peter gets his car labels.
E. At his NT home and while removing a cupboard at the G/F to the garden, Peter accidentally breaks a glass door.
F. Tying around a safe with a jump rope. Peter is removing the safe very slowly and carefully from 1/F down the staircase to G/F.
G. At the front garden, a uniform STAFF arrives in a car to check Peter's stuff. Peter then pays.
H. Later, another TEAM of staff arrive in a truck, removing the stuff from the front garden.
END MONTAGE
INT. SITTING ROOM, PETER'S NT. HOME - AFTERNOON
Peter puts a black tray on a hard PVC core carpet on the floor.
PETER (V.O.): I bought the safe in early 1992. Years ago, its electronic lock was out of order and I had to hired a professional to break into it.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The safe came with this black tray inside. And I'm retaining it as a file tray.
Peter then places a book in it for a photo session.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Just then, I've found this music dictionary in the music room. It hasn't been consulted since 1992.
At the first page of the dictionary, Peter sees the signature: SCheung 89.
PETER (V.O.): I should like to bring it to my urban home.
Act 3
EXT. ROADS - LATER
Driving a silver coupe, Peter is listening to the car radio news.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, the new CJ opens the ceremonial legal year today.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My actual legal year opened last Monday.
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
Music in the background, Peter works on his laptop.
PETER (V.O.): Today, I've made a lot of right decisions. My best decision has been to capture and deliver value.
Peter places the Dictionary of Music near him.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's another of my best decisions this year so far.
