Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - 08:00
Sunlight streams through the curtains as PETER lies in bed, lost in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): Today, I'm heading back to Mui Yuen with my three brothers to search for the gold bars our late Dad hid and our Mum forgot.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Mui Yuen was our family home since 1960, but over time, none of us from the family remains.
Stretching.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Our interest in Mui Yuen has been rekindled as the Government resumes certain portions of the land.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): By 2030, Mui Yuen will be just 200 meters from the Hung Shui Kiu MTR station.
Peter gets out of bed.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today promises to be a scorching sunny day, and everyone is available.
Act 2
EXT/INT. MUI YUEN - 10:00
Houses swallowed by jungle-like growth. Thick underbrush hums with mosquitoes. Peter arrives.
PETER (V.O.): OMG, is this Mui Yuen?
BROTHER#1 greets him.
BROTHER#1: Big brother, the other brothers have arrived and they're in their rooms.
As Peter enters, he slaps his neck instantly.
PETER: Mui Yuen is now a jungle guarded by mosquitoes.
BROTHER#2 greets him.
BROTHER#2: Big brother, I've brought industrial-strength repellent.
As Brother#2 hands him the repellent, Peter sprays it on all the exposed areas of his body.
PETER: These mosquitoes are staging a military operation.
Entering the main house, Peter notices spider webs in every corner.
PETER: Wow...
Peter can't wait to grab a broom and clear them away.
PETER (V.O.): No further signs of long-term neglect remain.
Peter then inspects the walls, windows, and roof of the house.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They still look fine to me.
Peter then gazes at the enclosed cockloft.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Even if the gold bars are hidden there, I don't think we should disturb the content inside right now. It might be a haven for vermin.
Grabbing a sickle, Peter heads to the former garden to cut back the vines and underbrush. Peter hears BROTHER#3's warning.
BROTHER#3: Big brother, beware of snakes!
Some PASSERS-BY stare at the brothers working in the garden.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Proof that the Cheungs are still here.
Then, Peter uncovers a moss-covered concrete bench, as witnessed by Brother#2.
PETER: Aside from the two-bedroom house we built for ourselves in1975, the concrete bench also appears to be in good condition.
BROTHER#2: We made more than one.
PETER: Yes, the others are buried with everything else.
Then, Peter goes to release a swing from its trap.
PETER (Cont'd): It's important to get Dad's swing moving again. Proof that Mui Yuen still breathes.
We see that Peter's shirt is soaked with sweat. He suggests to his brothers.
PETER: While any tangible connection to the past is worth fighting for, I believe we should postpone the gold-bar hunt for another time.
INT. RESTAURANT, HUNG SHUI KIU - 11:45
Having just ordered, Peter's right hand seizes up in a sudden cramp.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, I've overused it. Yes, one job at a time - discovering value with each step forward.
Brother#3 fills Peter's empty cup with water.
PETER (to all brothers): Aging demands adaptation and realism. Patience is our tool now.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - 21:00
Peter adds an image depicting the preliminary result of reclaiming Mui Yuen.
PETER (V.O.): Reclaiming begins with strategy and shared resolve, often away from the chaos. Legacy requires active stewardship.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Reclaiming Mui Yuen is a battle against not just mosquitoes and vines, but time itself - and the relentless, aching love that clings on.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Today's revised objective isn't uncovering treasure or fully restoring Mui Yuen immediately. Progress against big challenges is measured in small, meaningful steps.
