FLASHBACK
EXT. PARK - NIGHT
Staring at the jogging path, PETER is hesitating.
PETER (V.O.): I've done lots of housekeeping in my NT home, walking up and down the stairs. I feel a little pain in my right knee.
Pausing
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Ever since the closing of public swimming pools, I've been jogging daily. I've also extended the distance.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I feel bad if I don't jog just because of a little knee pain. Movement should heal. Don't rest.
Peter begins to jog.
Act 2
EXT. PARK - LATER
Open space. Peter is practising dancing steps, from Waltz and Tango to Cha-Cha-Cha and Jive.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My muscle memory is still good.
Peter keeps on dancing, freely.
INT. STUDY - LATER
Peter doesn't walk properly.
PETER (V.O.): Wow, I feel so painful in my knee now. My right leg has become weak.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Have I made a mistake in jogging and dancing?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And I've promised to attend a meeting in person tomorrow morning. Hmm...
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In 2009, I broke my right ankle during figure ice-skating. Apart from resting, I also did icing, compressing and elevating ie RICE.
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - MORNING
Waking up, Peter feels for his right knee.
PETER (V.O.): Okay, it seems that the pain has subsided.
EXT. MTR STATION - LATER
Holding the handrail, Peter is taking the stairs carefully.
PETER (V.O.): Walking down is painful. Walking up is Okay. I'm trying to walk without showing my pain - a new skill!
Later, Peter sees a lift nearby.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, I'm entitled to use the facility.
Peter takes the lift.
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
Following a video clip playing in his iPad Mini, Peter, wearing a knee joint supporter, is practising dance steps, moving his hips after every step.
PETER (V.O.): I won't jog today. I believe I'd at least practise Rumba Basic at home.
Peter looks happy, for a while.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Well, I feel very painful in my knee again. I shouldn't even dance?
Peter sighs.
INT. BATHROOM- LATER
Under the shower, Peter is doing water massage on his right knee.
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - MORNING
Waking up, Peter feels for his right knee.
PETER (V.O.): It seems resting is the best cure.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Do I have to stop both jogging and dancing today? That's my very uncomfortable zone.
Act 3
RETURN TO PRESENT
Phone in hand, Peter taps the Health icon and reads the data highlights.
PETER (V.O.): I did walk less yesterday than the day before. I've crossed the line to dance in pain. I deserve to suffer from the consequences.
Phone in hand, Peter is researching.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Being able to walk pain-free is a blessing. I might have sustained a tear in my right knee. My acute knee pain should go away in a few days.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've to sideline my will for a couple of days. My right knee deserves to rest well.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe my comeback should be stronger than my temporary setback.
FADE OUT.
THE END
