  1. FADE IN.

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY

  4. PETER is chatting with his SON.

  5. PETER: As you've returned home, practise driving whenever you like. The keys are in the car-key box.

  6. SON: Yes, but I can't find the one for the Mercedes.

  7. PETER: Is that right? I've kept one. I thought the spare one was in the key box.

  8. Peter checks his hand bag thoroughly

  9. PETER (Cont'd): No. I've just got one.

  10. Peter goes to a side table near the main door to check the key box.

  11. PETER (Cont'd): Yes, all the other car keys are here, except the one for the Mercedes.

  12. Pausing.

  13. PETER (Cont'd): I recall when we took a pleasure ride weeks ago, I had the two keys with me. Then, the car didn't start promptly.

  14. Act 2

  15. INT. SITTING ROOM - CONTINOUS

  16. MONTAGE OF THE CAR'S IGNITION PROBLEM

  17. A. Inserting a key into the ignition, Peter turns it. Nothing happens.

  18. B. Peter tries again, the same.

  19. C. Peter uses another key to start the car, we hear start-up sounds.

  20. END MONTAGE

  21. PETER (V.O.): I don't know if it's the car's problem or the car key's problem. To play safe, I brought both keys.

  22. Recalling.

  23. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Since then, I've been driving the Mercedes pretty regularly, and the problem has gone away.

  24. Pausing.

  25. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): An then, I'm not concerned if the spare key is with me anymore.

  26. Recalling.

  27. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): One one occasion, I did drop something in the car park and couldn't find it...

  28. FLASHBACK

  29. INT. CAR PARK - DAY

  30. Getting off from the driver seat with an unzipped handbag, Peter hears something dropping on the ground.

  31. PETER (V.O.): It sounds like a coin rolling somewhere.

  32. Checking the floor nearby, Peter sees nothing. He lowers his body to the ground to check, flashing his phone torch.

  33. Pausing.

  34. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I couldn't find anything. I believed it was a coin and wouldn't bother further. Could I have dropped the spare key?

  35. INT. ESTATE SECURITY OFFICE - DAY

  36. At the counter, Peter makes enquiry with STAFF#1.

  37. PETER (V.O.): I might have dropped a car key in the car park sometime ago. Did anyone find any car key?

  38. Sitting in a nearby desk, STAFF#2 hears Peter and looks responsive. Then, he picks up a car key from his drawer before approaching Peter.

  39. STAFF#2: What car key have you dropped at the car park?

  40. Peter shows Staff#2 his car key with the Mercedes device on it.

  41. PETER: Exactly the same as this one.

  42. Discreetly, Staff#2 compares the one in his possession with Peter's.

  43. STAFF#2: They don't look the same.

  44. Peter can see car key logo too.

  45. PETER: It's Volkswagen car key. Not mine.

  46. Disappointed, Peter leaves the office.

  47. PETER (V.O.): People do drop car keys, and they don't know they have lost them.

  48. END FLASHBACK

  49. Act 3

  50. INT. STUDY - DAY

  51. Peter looks a little restless.

  52. PETER (V.O.): For nearly one month now, I've been searching the car key and couldn't find it.

  53. Pausing.

  54. PETER (V.O.): I'm quite confident that I didn't drop it in public places. But where have I mislaid it?

  55. Pausing.

  56. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Let me try again.

  57. As he removes the shoes in a shoe rack, Peter sees a key-like object on the floor. Peter smiles widely.

  58. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I've found it!

  59. Pausing.

  60. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I don't have a clue that I dropped the car key here. I don't know what I don't know.

  61. Pausing.

  62. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): It's such a relief. My belief that I didn't lose it is correct.

  63. Pausing.

  64. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Now, I know I can drop things without knowing it. The finding is quite revealing.

  65. FADE OUT.
