  1. FADE IN.

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. SITTING ROOM - 14:00

  4. PETER, his WIFE and KAJI, the family pet are about to leave.

  5. PETER: Should we have something first?

  6. WIFE: Are you hungry now? We've had a late breakfast.

  7. PETER: We're taking Kaji to her Vet...You mentioned there's a shop nearby selling delicious beef items...

  8. WIFE: Yes, let's buy some beef cakes as our afternoon delights.

  9. PETER (V.O.): Beef cakes? I've beef buns in mind.

  10. Recalling.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I was with the Government, I didn't have the time to think about food.

  12. They exit.

  13. Act 2

  14. INT. KOWLOON CITY - 16:00

  15. Shop front. Peter's wife gets off the car to place an order. Peter and Kaji stay put.

  16. PETER (V.O.): Wow, I can see many customers waiting for takeaways. The shop's beef stuff can't be bad.

  17. Later, Peter's wife returns and opens a disposable food box. We see two fried cakes inside.

  18. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, they look very different from the one I had when I was young.

  19. PETER: How much is that per piece?

  20. WIFE: $24.

  21. FLASHBACK

  22. EXT. HUNG SHUI KIU - 08:00 (1964)

  23. Cook food stall. Having got 20 cents from Peter (10), the shopkeeper picks up one oily round-shaped bun from a big pan, puts it on a sheet of paper and passes it to Peter.

  24. PETER (V.O.): Wow, it's very hot.

  25. Peter eats it right away.

  26. PETER (V.O.): Wow, it's so juicy. On a chilly morning, it's particularly warm and tasty.

  27. END FLASHBACK

  28. PETER (V.O.): It was quite a treat then. Two loaves of bread with no fillings costed 15 cents only.

  29. Recalling.

  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): At home, we seldom had beef. Making beef good wasn't easy.

  31. Unmasking themselves, Peter and his wife use chopsticks.

  32. PETER: We must eat them while they're hot from the pan. Having food inside a private car isn't against the pandemic regulations.

  33. They begin to eat.

  34. PETER: Delicious! We don't need a silver fork to eat good food.

  35. Soon, they finish the beef cakes.

  36. PETER: Should we have another round?

  37. WIFE: Sure, let our pet get her vaccination at her Vet first.

  38. They leave. Peter observes the shop's signboard.

  39. PETER (V.O.): Oh, the brand was first established in 1950.

  40. Pausing.

  41. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was only born 4 years later.

  42. FLASHBACK

  43. INT. HOLLYWOOD ROAD - 13:30 (1960)

  44. A bakery. Peter (6) in school uniform, watches his Dad (27) buying a loaf of bread.

  45. PETER (V.O.): It looks a little different from other bread.

  46. DAD: You must be hungry. Eat it.

  47. As he eats the bread, Peter looks surprised.

  48. PETER: Oh, there's filling inside...

  49. DAD: It's beef.

  50. END FLASHBACK

  51. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's the first time I had a beef bun.

  52. Pausing.

  53. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I didn't know the value of the moment until it became a memory.

  54. Act 3

  55. INT. SITTING ROOM - 23:00

  56. Peter and his wife are watching TV.

  57. PETER (V.O.): Food is a necessity. Good food is often simple.

  58. Thinking.

  59. PETER (V.O)(Cont'd): More importantly, good food leads to good mood.

  60. Peter touches his hair.

  61. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): It's OK for me to be a little obsessed with food now.
