  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. BEDROOM - 12:30

  4. Bathed in soft, warm light. A stack of books on the floor. PETER carefully selects a few and puts them into a bag.

  5. PETER (V.O.): They deserve a proper home.

  6. Pausing.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Drive the SMART, have a swim at Golden Bay, unload the books in my house in NT, and then return with the Nissan.

  8. Pausing.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I store my stuff, including two cars there.

  10. Pausing.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I have scheduled a roadworthiness test for my Nissan tomorrow.

  12. Peter grabs the bag and the car keys.

  13. Act 2

  14. EXT. GOLDEN BAY - 14:30

  15. Sunny. The sand is pale gold. The beach is largely empty.

  16.  PETER (V.O.): Good. There's no red flag.

  17. Wearing his swimming briefs, Peter walks across the sand and scans the water.

  18. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There's a lifeguard sitting atop of a raft about 100 m out in the swimming area.

  19. Peter's face relaxes.

  20. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This will do.

  21. Wading into the water, Peter begins a steady, practised crawl, heading to the outer limit of the swimming area.

  22. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As long as I'm within the lifeguard's line of sight, I don't need to swim along the buoy line for support.

  23. Every few strokes, Peter glances towards the raft.

  24. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Seen. I feel safe.

  25. EXT. GATES, ESTATE ENTRANCE - 15:30

  26. Peter's modest numeric blue SMART approaches a gate booth. The scale is immense; rows of nearly identical villas stretch into the distance. Peter states his address and surname to a uniformed GUARD.

  27. GUARD: Boss Cheung, welcome back to inspect your house!

  28. Peter is visibly taken aback by the remarks of the friendly guard.

  29. PETER (V.O.): The word "boss" hangs in the air. It's the conventional form of respect.

  30. Peter gives a slow uncertain nod and drives past.

  31. PETER (V.O.): Even with over 5000 houses here, the guard seems to know I don't reside in this neighourhood; I only return to inspect my property.

  32. EXT. PETER'S NT HOME - CONTINUOUS

  33. As Peter arrives, he sees his silver Enuos 30X parked beside his house.

  34. PETER (V.O.): A fortnight ago, I chose to park it beside my house instead of inside it because my inconsiderate neighbour would park his two cars, alongside his house and my house.

  35. Peter parks his SMART right behind it.

  36. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My inconsiderate neighour's practice has made it difficult for me to manage my stored cars parked in the driveway.

  37. Peter gets off the car.

  38. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've made numerous complaints to the management on this issue.

  39. Peter glances at a black car parked inside his neighbour's house.

  40. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Management has asked my shameless neighbour to move his car parked beside my house, but as soon as I leave, they immediately park their second car in the same spot.

  41. Peter inspects his silver Enous 30X.

  42. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Now, there's order...Oh, there's no dust on the coupe, even though I haven't been back in over two weeks.

  43. Recalling.

  44. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, the cleaning lady always sweeps the road and pavement meticulously.

  45. Pausing.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Dust represents chaos, gradually settling. The unseen order is a quiet, daily rebellion against it.

  47. Pausing.

  48. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Gratitude deepens when I shift my focus from what's given to the hands that offer it.

  49. Pausing.

  50. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Don't mistake silence for absence. The most reliable structures are upheld by those who work without fanfare.

  51. Act 3

  52. INT. BEDROOM -22 :00

  53. Peter uploads an image, showing lifeguards shifting their duties to man a lifeguard raft at Golden Bay to a draft on his laptop.

  54. PETER (V.O.): The unseen order is the grammer of civilisation. We only notice it when it fails, yet we speak its language with every peaceful step we take.

  55. Thinking.

  56. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The deepest luxury isn't gold, but the quiet certainty that things will be done, and done well, without I ever having to ask.

  57. Reflecting.

  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The invisible threads of duty and care weave together the fraying edges of our daily lives, creating a coherent and unified whole.

  59. FADE OUT

  60. END
