FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SITTING ROOM - MORNING
Holding a watch, PETER speaks to his WIFE.
PETER: I've found it. Could you arrange to fix its battery for me?
WIFE: I don't think you've worn it...
PETER: No, what's the point of wearing a watch that doesn't work.
Peter checks the watch design.
PETER: It's a Geneva brand?
Pausing.
PETER: I haven't visited Geneva since 2013...
WIFE: You won't miss Geneva. You knew it so well that there's nothing exciting and delightful there.
PETER: I went swimming in Geneva's public swimming pools.
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - CONTINOUS
Peter's wife is surfing the web with her laptop.
WIFE: Let's have a staycation. See if this hotel in Hong Kong is agreeable to you?
PETER: But I don't know if I need to appear in court that day.
WIFE: If you've to appear in court on the check-in date, you come late. If you've to appear in court on the check-out date, you leave early.
Peter nods smilingly.
PETER (V.O.): That's an unforeseen beauty of staycation. More importantly, my wife arranges for it. She deserves a break.
INT. ESTATE CLUBHOUSE - AFTERNOON
Seeing a queue at the swimming pool entrance, Peter leaves.
PETER (V.O.): I don't like to swim in a crowded pool. Furthermore, the water is warm.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I love to bathe in hot springs! And I haven't done that since February 2020 - the last time I was in Japan.
EXT. ESTATE PARK LATER
Wearing a T-shirt with a device depicting Mostar, Peter jogs.
PETER (V.O.): These days, I love to wear T-shirts I bought while travelling places.
Peter jogs around the park two times.
INT. STUDY - LATER
Peter checks his phone mails. He sees: Times Car Rental JP Tower Nagoya replied to your review...
PETER (V.O.): I recall I posted my review 3 years ago. The Times Car Rental has replied to me an hour ago?
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife had a fall and twisted her ankle the night before our departure for Nagoya in 2018.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Trying not to spoil the travelling mood, she insisted on travelling with me as planned.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That was the only trip that she didn't drive in Japan.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We last drove extensively in Japan in December 2019 - the most memorable one.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As my elder daughter's boyfriend is a Korean, I find myself re-liking anything Korean.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The last time I went to Korea was with my sons. We went skiing. And that was...in 2015.
Act 3
INT. JAPANESE RESTAURANT - NIGHT
Peter and family are having dinner. We hear STAFF speaking some Japanese.
PETER (V.O.): They remind customers that they're in Hong Kong, far from Japan.
INT. SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
Peter's wife passes a watch back to Peter.
PETER (V.O.): My wife has arranged our son to fly back to Australia and our younger daughter back to UK.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They're flying business class.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Our son has already taken his 1st jab.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've also said that I'll take the dying risk if I can't travel without taking the jabs.
Peter takes several looks of his watch.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Even Geneve - the geographical indication of the watch - is appealing.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I must be suffering from travel fever!
FADE OUT.
THE END
