  1. FADE IN.

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. STUDY - MORNING

  4. PETER looks restless.

  5. PETER (V.O.): Can I collect my elder daughter's 15kg postal parcel from Japan in the Post Office although the named recipient isn't me?

  6. Pausing.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The parcel was delivered to us when no one was home. My wife wants me to assist our younger daughter. But I wish to do it alone if I can.

  8. INT/EXT. POST OFFICE - LATER

  9. Reception. STAFF#1 gestures to Peter to check just his I/D and the Post Office Unsuccessful Delivery Notification card.

  10. Later, Peter leaves the Post Office with a parcel in a delivery cart happily.

  11. PETER (V.O.): Let me notify my wife and our elder daughter.

  12. Having sent his phone messages, Peter sees rain falling on the screen.

  13. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't think I should go to the beach today

  14. Act 2

  15. INT. STUDY - LATER

  16. Phone in hand, Peter is researching.

  17. PETER (V.O.): I've two top-range mobiles. My third one is mid-ranged. It was out of customer loyalty that I bought it.

  18. Pausing.

  19. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I took it to the beach at times. It couldn't cope with the heat and swelled. It can be a significant risk.

  20. Pausing.

  21. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can wait till Sept for a new model of my customary brand. But, I won't be excited and delighted to have three mobiles of the same brand.

  22. Peter taps an icon to see a video clip.

  23. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The blue colour of this mobile appeals to me. It was my favourite colour in the late 1960s.

  24. Watching.

  25. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And I love to see widescreen movies. This mobile has widescreen and tele-shooting features...

  26. Peter taps the phone screen a few times.

  27. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): OMG! Have I placed an order? I can see a transaction reference no.

  28. Pausing.

  29. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Okay. I've to buy it. Let me confirm that with the dealer.

  30. Peter makes a call.

  31. PETER (To phone): Is the price....

  32. SOMEONE (From phone): Yes, but you've to pay more for the warranty...

  33. PETER (To phone): But you state in the ad that the item isn't a parallel-imported item...

  34. PETER (V.O.): This unauthorized dealer is cheating me on the price. I won't accept the counter-offer. There's no contract.

  35. Ending the call, Peter looks upset.

  36. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There're other dealers offering to sell that mobile at the same price. Are they in the same basket? Or have I tried just one bad apple?

  37. Having taken a deep breath, Peter taps his phone screen again.

  38. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This dealer explicitly states that there's warranty...

  39. After talking to someone on the phone, Peter taps the phone screen a few times.

  40. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As the dealer reconfirmed the warranty issue, I've placed the order - the cheapest price I can get in town.

  41. INT. SMALL SHOP - AFTERNOON

  42. Having paid cash, Peter gets a mobile in a box from STAFF#2.

  43. PETER: Is that all I get? No other free accessories?

  44. Staff#2 nods.

  45. PETER (V.O.): I should be content with that, paying about 85% of the listed price.

  46. INT. BIG STORE - LATER

  47. Taking out the mobile box, Peter talks to STAFF#3.

  48. PETER: Do you have covers for this model?

  49. STAFF#3: The dealer didn't give you a free cover? Check it out with the desk officer over there.

  50. At the desk, Staff#3 checks Peter's mobile box and a receipt. Staff#3 then presents Peter with a mobile cover in a box.

  51. PETER (V.O.): Am I a prudent or lucky purchaser?

  52. Act 3

  53. INT. STUDY - NIGHT

  54. Peter unboxes the blue mobile and the matching cover.

  55. .PETER (V.O.): Just then, I've also had the phone screen protector done. It costed 100% more than the ones for my top-range mobiles.

  56. Pausing.

  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I knew I was cheated on the price and the product. But that was the outstanding item that should be done timely.

  58. Pausing.

  59. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't like to leave anything undone if I can still do it.

  60. Thinking.

  61. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't buy sunshine. I can't buy out any typhoon. Let me buy what I can buy.

  62. As Peter begins to charge his new mobile, he notes a message from his old mobiles.

  63. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Our elder daughter is happy that the parcel she posted in late June from Fukuoka has finally arrived home.

  64. Peter smiles a little.

  65. FADE OUT.
