Act 1
INT. STUDIO - 10:30
Largely empty. PETER is shredding piles of financial statements.
PETER (V.O.): My wife told me that the contractor will take possession of the premises tomorrow at 9.am.
Shredding.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Originally, the contractor was scheduled to start renovation work days ago - immediately upon our return from Hokkaido.
Shredding.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's why we made every effort to declutter before our trip. I've adhered to the one - year rule and decluttered a lot.
Shredding.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): However, there're big items I want to keep, with the most significant being the old Clavinova.
The scraps fill a garbage bag.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was thrilled that we moved the Clavinova to our NT home yesterday afternoon.
Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. STUDIO - 14:00 (May 5, 2025)
Peter's WIFE notices the Clavinova is still untouched. She talks to Peter.
WIFE: We're flying out tomorrow, so today is the last day to declutter your studio.
Pausing.
WIFE (Cont'd): If you want to move the Clavinova to your NT home, you'd hire a service provider without delay.
PETER: The Clavinova is detachable...
FLASHBACK UPON FLASHBACK
INT. TOM LEE MUSIC - NIGHT (Winter,1987)
Peter (33) and SHARON (32) have their sights set on the innovative Clavinova.
They press the keys.
PETER: The feel of the keys is similar to that of a traditional piano.
Sharon nods.
PETER (Cont'd): As a digital instrument, the Clavinova won't go out of tune and is relatively portable.
INT. PETER'S HK HOME - NIGHT (A week later)
Avande garde. Sharon is playing the Clavinova, while Peter plays electric bass and sings the song "Big Date in Winter".
EXT. ESTATE ROAD - NIGHT (1991)
Peter and Sharon move the detached parts of the Clarvinova into a brand new Space Wagon.
INT. PETER'S KOWLOON HOME - NIGHT (1991)
Brand new. Peter reattaches the detached parts of the Clavinova.
END FLASHBACK UPON FLASHBACK
PETER (Cont'd): I think we can move it to our NT home by ourselves with your help.
WIFE: Is that right?
PETER: There're just a couple of screws to loosen. I've done it before, but it's still heavy.
WIFE: Okay.
PETER: Since we're flying out tomorrow, we can move the Clavinova to our Previa and leave it there. We'll go to NT after we get back to Hong Kong.
WIFE: Okay, there's no hurry then. Let's do that tonight.
EXT. PARKING BAY - 23:00
Peter and his wife move the detached parts of the Clarvinova into a 2000 Previa.
PETER (V.O.): The difference is that it's quite exhausting to me now.
EXT. PETER'S NT HOME - 17:00 (YESTERDAY)
Cluttered. Peter's wife handles most of the reassembling of the Clavinova.
PETER (V.O.): When it comes to tasks like this, my wife excels far more than I do.
Watching his wife using two screwdrivers at the same time.
WIFE: Oh, some parts are torn. The Clavinova is too old. This will be its final move.
Peter nods in agreement.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 21:30
Peter inserts an AI drawing titled: "What I Keep..." to a draft on his laptop.
PETER (V.O): Decluttering is easy. It's the "why" behind every kept thing that breaks me.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I don't keep things because they're valuable. I keep them because they're silent witnesses to the life I've lived.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): What I hold on to isn't clutter. It's the evidence that I was loved, and that I loved back.
FADE OUT
