  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. BEDROOM - 08:15

  4. Sitting up in bed, PETER checks his mobile calendar.

  5. PETER (V.O): Ah, today is March 8 - International Women's Day (IWD).

  6. Surfing the web, Peter reads a text.

  7. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The IWD 2024 campaign theme is "Inspire Inclusion"

  8. Reading.

  9. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.

  10. Reading.

  11. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment.

  12. Pausing.

  13. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Everyone everywhere can support IWD.

  14. Act 2

  15. INT. BUSINESS SCHOOL, HKUST - 09:20

  16. A woman RECEPTIONIST is chatting with Peter.

  17. RECEPTIONIST: Have you done your swimming?

  18. PETER: No, I'll swim after the meeting. But I've already done some intellectual exercises.

  19. RECEPTIONIST: What have you done?

  20. PETER: I've explored the underrepresentation of women in entrepreneurship.

  21. The receptionist looks curious.

  22. PETER (Cont'd): The main reasons are stereotypes and implicit bias on women's abilities and leadership potential.

  23. Pausing.

  24. PETER (Cont'd): For women having caregiving responsibilities, it's particularly hard for them to run demanding and time-consuming businesses.

  25. RECEPTIONIST: I agree entirely.

  26. EXT. STREETS - 16:45

  27. Crowded. A wet-haired Peter's gaze wanders what's unfolding before him. A sight catches his attention.

  28. PETER (V.O): Oh dear...

  29. We see a MOTHER pushing a wheelchaired-bound young BOY.

  30. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I can see her eyes are filled with unwavering love.

  31. Observing discreetly.

  32. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I can imagine the challenges they face on a daily basis.

  33. They go past Peter.

  34. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The fleeting encounter reminds me of human's capacity to endure hardship.

  35. INT. STUDY - 17:30

  36. Surfing the web, Peter reads something interesting.

  37. PETER (V.O): What's the concept of "Scientific Eve" or "Mitochondrial Eve"?

  38. Reading.

  39. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It refers to the most recent common ancestor of all living humans through the maternal line.

  40. Reading.

  41. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The concept is based on the study of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), which is inherited only from the mother.

  42. Reading.

  43. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): By analyzing variations in mtDNA across different populations, scientists have traced back the maternal lineage to a single woman who lived in Africa thousands of years ago.

  44. Reading.

  45. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The "Scientific Eve" or "Mitochondrial Eve" isn't a specific person but rather a theoretical ancestor.

  46. Reading.

  47. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): She wasn't the only woman alive at that time.

  48. Reading.

  49. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): She represents the furthest point back in time that all individuals can trace their maternal ancestry to.

  50. Digesting.

  51. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It's really very difficult to understand a woman.

  52. Act 3

  53. INT. BEDROOM - 23:00

  54. Peter inserts an AI drawing entitled "Women's Day" to a text.

  55. PETER (V.O): I think it important to acknowledge and appreciate the impact of women figures on individuals and society.

  56. Thinking.

  57. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): As humans are more interconnected than ever, I should continue to delve deeper into understanding the world and the origins of humankind.

  58. Reflecting.

  59. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Anyhow, for every feeling, heart and home, only women can complete this world!

  60. FADE OUT

  61. THE END
