FADE IN:
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - DAY
Waking up, PETER grabs his phone and checks.
PETER (V.O.)
A friend tagged me on
Facebook. Yes, I once
promoted smells as non-
traditional trademarks.
The shirt I wore then
looked good.
Peter finds an orange-patterned shirt and a pair of white jeans.
PETER (V.O.)
Let me engage my audience
this morning in that outfit.
INT. LECTURE THEATER - DAY
Over 50 BOYS and GIRLS, accompanied by some LADIES and GENTLEMEN. Peter takes centre stage.
PETER
What I would do this morning is to have a few
chats, tell a few stories,
and sing a few songs.
Is that OK?
Nodding heads here and there.
PETER
Who lives in the NT?
Sitting on the left, BOY#1's hand is up.
BOY#1
I live in Fanling.
PETER
When did you wake
up to join this function?
BOY#1
6:30.
PETER
That was also the time
when I had to wake up
to attend HKU 8:30 classes
decades ago. I was never
late.
A beat.
Song lyrics on a big screen. Peter sings in Cantonese, Mandarin and English as some audience clap to the beat. A round of applause.
PETER
Many of my messages
to you can be found in
the lyrics.
Peter points at the lyrics on the screen.
PETER (Cont'd)
For example, "technology
and creativity impact on
us immensely", "Let us
work tirelessly, uplifting
everybody!"
PETER (Cont'd)
To make something out
of nothing is never easy.
Guess how long did I
take to compose a
song?
Peter points at GIRL#1 sitting in the middle.
GIRL#1
Two weeks.
Peter points at BOY#2 sitting on the left.
BOY#2
One week.
PETER
For the past 12 months,
I didn't have any
inspiration and haven't
written any new songs.
But if I'm in the mood,
I can turn in one in 32
hours.
Pausing.
PETER (Cont'd)
For creativity, labour,
skill and judgment are
required. For innovation,
it is much harder and
often requires team
work.
Pausing.
PETER (Cont'd)
Does it mean that we
won't do it because
it's hard?
Peter points a BOY#3 sitting at the back.
BOY#3
We should do it as it's
good for society.
PETER
Will you do it?
Boy#3 nods positively.
PETER (Cont'd)
I take that as your pledge!
Boy#3 nods affirmatively again. Some other boys and girls also nod.
PETER (V.O.)
I should be very pleased
if some of them would follow
through and become
creators or innovators.
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY
Some LADIES and GENTLEMEN exchange name cards with Peter as food is being put on the table. Peter serves some LADIES and GENTLEMEN sitting near him.
PETER (V.O.)
They smell and taste good.
LADY#1
Your talk was very engaging!
You play the guitar and write
songs...
PETER
I just want to demonstrate the
creativity in us. I write reviews
and capture photos too.
Peter passes his phone to LADIES and GENTLEMEN sitting near him to check the screen.
PETER (Cont'd)
My reviews have a total
of about one million
views and my photos
about 11 million. I just
want to share and help
others.The statistics all
begin with the support
of one.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Peter relaxes on a sofa.
PETER (V.O.)
What I sensuous day!
Sounds, sights, smell,
taste and touch...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Not just the touching
of my guitar, but the
affirmative nods that
touch my heart!
Peter rolls his eyes.
