FADE IN:
INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY
PETER chats with PLATO.
PETER
I'm going to give some
support to Zeno Down-
Under. Can you join us
for a few days?
PLATO
(Considering)
If I can go, I'd like to
visit the Blue Mountains
PETER
Okay. We can do a day
trip with a car.
INT. LODGE, ZETLAND - NIGHT
Peter, Plato and ZENO chat.
ZENO
Let me book a GoGet
car first.
PETER
Go ahead. Only you
can drive, right?
Zeno nods.
PETER (V.O.)
He told me during our
weekly Skype that he
had been using such
car-rental facility.
INT. M4 TO SCENIC WORLD, BLUE MOUNTAINS - DAY
Following Peter's smart phone GPS directions, Zeno drives Peter and Plato.
ZENO
The M road here is
similar to those in
Europe.
PETER (Nodding)
When Mom and I
drove here last year,
we stayed in a farm
that used to raise
horses.
ZENO
I took the train and
the the bus to Scenic
World last time.
PETER
I can still recognize
the way...
EXT. SCENIC WORLD, BLUE MOUNTAINS - DAY
Covered car-park.
PETER
Parking is free.
Zeno parks the car on the 2/F.
Ticket office. No queue.
PETER
What a pleasant surprise
on a Saturday. Last time,
we arrived before noon
and there was a long
queue.
They examine the ticket price listed on a board.
PLATO
AUD49 for single entry.
AUD99 for an annual
pass + 15% off on
purchases.
They do some mental calculations.
PETER
(To Counter Staff)
Two adult tickets and
one annual pass please.
They ride on the Skyway, the world's steepest Railway (incline of 52 degrees) and Cableway before they break for snacks and drinks.
PETER
I see the Blue Mountains
are being intercepted by
black clouds and white
clouds under the blue sky.
I 've got to take a few
more photos before we
go.
Plato continues to chat with Zeno as Peter takes his distant shots.
PETER (V.O.)
(Checking his shots)
Wow, they look like
impressionistic paintings!
What an unexpected
tangible and visible
outcome!
EXT. ROAD, SCENIC WORLD - SYDNEY - NIGHT
Zeno drives. Peter sits next to him as Plato relaxes in the back seat.
PETER (V.O.)
Plato came here for the
first time. Zeno drove
away from the city for
the first time. The last
photos I captured were
different from the ones
I got last time.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
More importantly, I'm
making my day with my
two sons!
EXT. UNSW CAMPUS - NIGHT
Zeno parks the car at its designated parking lot.
PETER
Good. We're 30 minutes
before the scheduled return
time.
Zeno nods.
PETER (Cont'd)
Let us take a bus to Darling
Harbour for dinner.
EXT. BLUE FISH, DARLING HARBOUR - NIGHT
Sitting in the open-air section of the restaurant, they discuss what to order.
PETER
I'm content with Fish &
Chips. I recall I first came
here in 1995 and ordered
fish.
PLATO
I'll have the Australian
lobster.
ZENO
I'll try the Kangaroo meat.
Some drizzles.
ZENO (Cont'd)
Hope that wouldn't affect
the 8:30pm fireworks
displays tonight.
Just when food is put on the table, we hear firework sounds and see fireworks displays over the sky. Like other CUSTOMERS, Peter and Plato walk out to capture the sights and sounds as Zeno watches their belongings.
PETER
This's perfect. Our right
decisions have made
our day and night!
Happily, they share the food.
FADE OUT. The End
