FADE IN.
Act 1
EXT. ROADS - MORNING
PETER drives his red coupe.
PETER (V.O.): I slept well last night. I'm feeling good.
EXT. GOLDEN BEACH - LATER
Peter swims from one side of the swimming area to the other.
PETER (V.O.): I hold my breath to swim, but I can still hear myself talking in my head. Human's brain mechanism is amazing.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While most humans have internal dialogues or inner monologues, mine is like non-stop commentaries.
Self-talking.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): But humankind only have individual consciousness but not collective consciousness. We need to communicate or we don't know what others are thinking about.
Act 2
EXT. RESTAURANT - NOON
Finishing his noodles and ice coffee, Peter hesitates to leave.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, it's raining hard. Let me entertain some answer requests in Quora.
Peter reads Quora notifications in his mobile.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've become a key opinion leader. I've got endless answer requests all over the world.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Here's a fan's question: How much does our daily life affect our philosophy of life, and why?
Self-talking.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Few understand what is philosophy and what's life. Anyhow, I know what he's getting at.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Let me type on my mobile my inner voice's response to the answer request.
Peter types: Events in daily life all trigger our cognitive behavioural responses including the running inner voices. The philosophy of life so-called may be affirmed or negatived, depending on how critical we are.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): If we had collective consciousness or shared inner voices, life might be a lot easier.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Ah, that won't be practical as there're so many existing beings on Earth, it could be very confusing.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): But it's logically possible that the cosmic design can make our brains as super-computers in processing all the information.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): The DNAs and functions of our body parts in particular our brains as we know them are complicated and sophisticated.
Raining less. Peter leaves.
INT. PETER'S NT HOME - AFTERNOON
Peter opens some of the windows from G/F to 2/F.
PETER (V.O.): Despite the showers, there's still natural horizontal and vertical ventilation.
Sitting in the penthouse studio, Peter checks answer requests from Quora again.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Some Quorans like to fantasize. Here's one: What would I do if I knew I could not fail?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I can't fail, as I treat unsatisfactory results as my temporary setbacks. I'd try again.
Peter types his short answer: Be more creative and innovative.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I really like to be innovative if I can.
Appearing in the G/F sitting room, Peter looks at his late wife's photo placed in a shelf.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I fantasize that I could invent a super time-travel machine allowing tourists from the past to have a short stay in the present.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I want my late wife to witness what our son has become.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Meanwhile, she might actually know, only that I consciously don't know how she knows.
Act 3
EXT. ROADS - EVENING
Peter is driving his SMART car.
PETER (V.O.): Perhaps, my late wife has also whispered in the silence, only that I wasn't listening well.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Similar to my internal monologue, who can listen to my inner voice?
Self-talking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As I've already internalised my late wife in me, that she can listen to my inner voice might not be a fantasy.
Self-talking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe I feel it. I don't have to be critical.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And my inner voice never lies.
Peter looks content.
FADE OUT.
THE END
