Kaji: Different Colours

FADE IN.

Act 1

INT. SLEEPING ROOM - NIGHT

Standing up at her bed spot, KAJI is expecting something.

KAJI (V.O.): It's dark. Everything looks black.

Then, flashes of light shine out of darkness.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I look white for a second.

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): My skin colour should be ...brownish yellow.

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyway, I am neither white nor black.

Act 2

EXT. PET GARDEN - DAY

The PACK LEADER, PETER and Kaji are at different spots.

KAJi (V.O.): The air here is fresh. I love it.

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, my white friend is here.

Kaji goes and plays with his white friend.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, my black friend is here too.

Kaji goes and plays with his black friend.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): We're of the same breed, and have the same temperment. Our different colours don't make any difference.

Kaji sees another black dog of a different breed with a WOMAN in black.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): He's carrying something on his back, advertising something that I couldn't understand.

Observing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): They seem to be on a mission or something. They keep their mouths shut.

Observing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): It seems that they aren't happy and prefer to stay aloof.

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): But here's our paradise on earth. It isn't a hell.

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): Are they discriminating me?

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): Or are they thinking the world is about to end?

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): No, the sun is still shining.

Pausing.

IKAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): I engage everyone in the same way, whether they are white, black or yellow.

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyway, I just play with my happy friends.

Kaji joins her white friends and black friends.

Act 3

INT. SLEEPING ROOM - NIGHT

Kaji rests on her bed spot.

KAJI (V.O.): My hairdresser has done a good job.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Under the warm lighting, my brownish-yellow fur looks beautiful.

Reflecting.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe I've the best of both worlds. I'm neither white nor black. And I don't mind others having different colours.

Pausing.

KAJi (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've an open mind. I love all dogs and humans, as long as they're kind to me.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): Even though the air here isn't as good as those in the pet garden, I can breathe.

FADE OUT.
