Act 2
FLASHBACK
INT. STUDY - 16:00 (EARIER)
Peter takes a call.
PETER (To phone): Is it you?
SOMEONE (From phone): We've known each other since 1982...
PETER (To phone): Whenever I see a court interpreter, I remember you,
SOMEONE (From phone): We've a common friend...He remembers you...
PETER (To phone): Is that right? I couldn't recall... Anyway, it's nice to know.
SOMEONE (From phone): Let's get together.
PETER (To phone): Sure!
PETER (V.O.): We haven't changed.
INT. RESTAURANT - 12:00 (Earlier)
Peter and a down-beat FRIEND are checking the menu.
FRIEND: There's All-Day Breakfast.
PETER: Let's order English breakfast. London was where we first met.
PETER (V.O.): That was in 1986. We're classmates. He asked me to record the lectures for him as he had to work.
Food on the table.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We reunited when I began private practice.
Chatting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): He is litigious. But I'm lenient towards others.
Eating very-English breakfast.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I suggest him to change, but he becomes more of who he really is.
Chatting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm a pensioner and he isn't.
Peter pays the bill.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This morning, he has learnt to be lenient the hard way.
They part.
INT. CHAMBERS - 09:00 (Earlier)
Reading a white book, Peter jot notes.
PETER (V.O.): Preparation boosts my confidence.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I couldn't count the number of hours I've spent on this trivial case.
Peter packs his stuff and leaves.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I know too well that many things are beyond my control.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 19:00
Watching the repeat of the Beatles' news story.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let It Be was the Beatles' final album. Then, I couldn't believe that band would break up.
Watching.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Two of the four Beatles are gone. But life goes on.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): So, if it comes; let it. If it goes; let it. There're just too many things beyond our control.
Touching his white hair.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm wise enough to let it be.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Should I resume making my music videos?
