FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. STUDY - MORNING
Checking Quora notifications on his phone, PETER is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): A Quoran asks my view on the statement: Life Always Wins.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't like the competitive win-lose mindset.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If we see life as a struggle against death, life always loses.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If we see life and death as a package, the win-lose issue is irrelevant.
Peter types on his phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If we take a positive attitude to collaborate without overpowering others, life always wins, metaphorically.
Act 2
EXT. GOLDEN COAST BEACH - NOON
Peter is swimming around the whole swimming area.
PETER (V.O.): Today's another hot day. But the sea water is cool. It's so comfortable and refreshing.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'll surely miss this when I can no longer do it. Meanwhile, I'm enjoying more.
INT. PETER'S NT HOME - LATE AFTERNOON
Sitting in a revolving sofa in a study on 1/F, Peter sorts old files and papers.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, these're the Probate stuff that I studied in my PCLL years. Good.
FLASHBACK
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY (YESTERDAY)
Peter is having dim-sums with a LADY and a GENTLEMAN.
PETER: If our golden years are from age 60 to age 70, a greater part of them has gone!
GENTLEMAN: Be positive...
LADY: We'd have another 10 years...
PETER: Since I decided to take the jabs, I've changed the unit of my life measurement from years to days...
The lady and the gentleman smile.
LADY & GENTLEMAN: We're doing fine, and so are you...
PETER: I hope so; but I haven't taken my second jab yet. Anyhow, I've lived for over a fortnight now.
They continue to chat endlessly and happily.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Belonging to the elderly age group, we think about the same things.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Their concerns are about some legal matters, whereas my focus is to declutter.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, the fictitious characters in the sample legal documents are Prof Willlougby and Prof Evans.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They've passed away several years ago.
Peter walks up a floor.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There's a little pain in my knees. I'm not young anymore.
Going out to the balcony to observe the view, Peter takes a photo.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The same old view on Hong Kong side. But some of my loved ones have already gone.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We all die.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
Relaxing on a sofa, Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): Death is not the opposite of life, it's a package deal as I said.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The loss is immeasurable; and so is the love left behind.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I still miss and love my loved ones. Anytime, anywhere.
Peter feels for his knees.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): After some resting, the pain has gone. Perhaps, I've swum non-stop for too long.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Meanwhile, let me continue to create something to demonstrate life always wins, metaphorically.
Peter begins to work on his laptop.
.FADE OUT.
