FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. DINING ROOM - MORNING (YESTERDAY)
Having breakfast, PETER & FAMILY are checking What'sApp messages.
PETER: So, our elder daughter is flying from Fukuoka to Tokyo.
WIFE: The flight would take about 2 hours.
PETER: Why doesn't she take the Shinkansen?
WIFE: Shinkansen would take about 5 hours. And it costs twice as much.
PETER: Yes, cost is a consideration.
Peter sees an image of a pretty empty airport terminal.
WIFE: That's the Fukuoka Airport.
PETER (V.O.): Yes, I flew out from there back to Hong Kong in Nov, 2019, and you in Oct 2019, after seeing our elder daughter settling in there.
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - NOON (YESTERDAY)
PETER & FAMILY are following their What'sApp images.
WIFE: Our daughter has arrived at the Narita Airport.
PETER: Yes. The last time I was there was Feb 2020.
WIFE: Yes, you're very fortunate that you could still make the trip, when the pandemic has already begun.
They check images of a hotel room and some remarks.
PETER: Wow, the listed price was HK$600/night; now HK$600 for 3 nights.
PETER (V.O.): Good for our prudent daughter.
Peter studies an image, depicting a city scene.
PETER (Cont'd): She's in the Ueno District.
Selecting a phone image, depicting him in a boat, Peter sends it.
PETER (V.O.): The last time I rowed a boat in the Ueno Park was in Jan 2020.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Whenever I visit Tokyo, I'd try to row there.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I often did that on the late day of my Tokyo trip. After rowing, I'd take a cheap train from Ueno to Narita Airport.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My daughter isn't familiar with the Ueno District. Let me send her some travelling information and eating suggestions.
Peter sends some images and links via his phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I feel very happy in doing this...I used to do a lot of that before the pandemic.
INT. STUDY - AFTERNOON (YESTERDAY)
Peter is enjoying some chocolates.
PETER (V.O.): They're from Japan. I love chocolates.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is life really like a box of chocolates? One never knows what one is going to get?
Phone in hand, Peter taps Search and then types Dec 2019. Images appear.
PETER (V.O.): Yes, I spoke in Beijing in early Dec, and then my family toured Japan via Tokyo in late Dec.
Peter types Nov 2019 to see the images.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, yes. I was in Fukuoka. Where did I go in Oct 2019?
Peter types Oct 2019 to see the images.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): OMG, I've forgotten I was visiting my Canadian friend! How about Sept 2019?
Peter then types Oct 2019.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, Jesus Christ! I've forgotten my wife and I were accompanying our younger daughter to settle down in England!
Peter repeats his typing until no images appear.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Although I began my monthly travelling hobby upon retirement, I find that I haven't travelled enough after all.
INT. CLINIC - AFTERNOON
Consulting his DOCTOR, Peter nods.
PETER: Dr, I heed your advice. And I'll make my will before taking them!
His doctor smiles.
Act 3
INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT
Peter dines with his wife.
PETER: I'll take the jabs.
WIFE: What a 180-degree change!
PETER: And I'm making my reservations.
Peter taps on his phone screen.
PETER (V.O): Life is all memory. I haven't had enough.
Pausing.
.PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I survive the risk, I know what I'm going to get - more life!
FADE OUT.
