Act 1
INT. STUDY - 09:30
Messy. A smartphone in hand, PETER scans his list of stock investments.
PETER (V.O): Wow, the HSI has surged by another 2%.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It has finally returned to the levels of 2021 when I first purchased my stocks.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Yesterday, I chose not to sell any of my holdings.
Peter taps a stock code and reviews the notes he made about the purchase price and dates.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Some were bought above the current market price, while others were below. If I sell now, my average return on investment would be 0%.
We see the HSI fluctuating on screen. Peter places several trading orders using his securities apps.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I just hope that the sales proceeds could cover the commission fees.
Act 2
INT. STUDIO - 16:30
Peter sits at an old piano, a smile spreading across his face.
PETER (V.O): Today, I've sold 3% of my portfolio. I'm pleased that I didn't incur any losses from the transactions.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It's time to learn something new.
As he watches an online piano tutorial, Peter starts to trace the keys with his fingers.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Learning the "slide" technique on keyboard should be fun.
Peter presses down on a key to play the starting note. Instead of lifting his finger off the key, he keeps it in contact with the key and moves it horizontally to the next key. He then releases the starting key and presses the next key.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): This is stylish.
We hear a sustained sound.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): It's dynamic and engaging. I love it.
Playing the slide technique in octaves, Peter loses himself in the music.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I feel a sense of freedom and possibility.
EXT. RIVERSIDE PARK - 19:30
Terraced grass. Peter and his WIFE are walking Kaji, the family pet.
WIFE: I'm feeling great today - the Hong Kong stock market is booming! I'm only down 3% on my investment.
PETER: Yes, darling. I feel great too, even though I'm still 18% down on my investment.
WIFE: Still down18% ? It sounds like you may have selected some unwise investment choices.
PETER: Yes, I realise I'm learning the hard way.
WIFE: We've held onto those stocks for over three years, and only now are they starting to bounce back.
PETER: Yes, we've been very patient. We're not in it for a quick win.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O): Should pursuing quick-wins be the right strategy?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): I conducted a test last Friday and realised15% gain today on a minimal investment.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): The success I achieved reflects the fluctuations of the market and investor sentiment.
Pausing.
PETER (Cont'd): I just hope the bull market can be sustained, and that we may even make some profits.
Pausing.
PETER (Cont'd): But it's just hard, we've known that for the past three years.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Anyhow, it feels good to loose less, at least.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O): Our family pet is our best investment yet.
Kaji searches for her favourite spot but can't seem to find it.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 21:30
Peter inserts an AI drawing titled: "Notes of Hope..." to a draft on his laptop.
PETER (V.O): In every note of despair, a hidden note of hope awaits, ready to be played.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Hope is the melody that keeps me moving forward, guiding me through life's uncertainties.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Just as music uplifts my spirit, hope elevates my heart.
