FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. STUDY - DAY
Having done push-ups 70 times, PETER relaxes on a sofa to watch a phone video clip. We see the title on the screen: Rumba for beginners.
PETER (V.O.): I've an urge to re-learn what I've learned about a decade ago...I find fun to practise some basic Tango, Waltz, Cha-Cha, Samba, and Jive footwork again.
FLASHBACK
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - NIGHT
Peter is watching dancing video clips in bed.
PETER (V.O.): Yes, I haven't danced Viennese Waltz for a long time. If there's room in the dance hall, I'd enjoy the dance a lot, particularly if I'm dancing with my instructor.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I don't lead well, she would correct me with her body weight and body movement.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Previously, I didn't care about the lady's footwork. Now, I take it as my relearning challenge to instruct myself and my potential partner as well.
Remembering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Just watching the dance movement in bed, I feel I can dance Viennese Waltz again without much difficulty.
END FLASHBACK
Peter then watches the video clip again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, I must remember my weight transfer from one foot to another, and my hip movements.
Peter goes out.
Act 2
EXT. PARK - DAY
Having just stopped jogging, Peter begins to practise in an open space some footworks in Tango, Waltz, Cha-Cha, and Rumba, and he counts the beats at the same time.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me see if I can remember how to dance Viennese Waltz...the natural walks and the natural turns first.
Peter starts with his right foot forward and counts 1,2,3...
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Good! It's like paradise refound! I can still remember that!
Instead of jogging along a trail, Peter squeezes his hip and crosses forward...
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The Samba Volta footwork is all I can remember.
Putting on his mask, a sweating Peter leaves the Park.
INT. BATHROOM - DAY
Peter is bathing and washing his hair.
PETER (V.O.): To have a cold water bath now is most enjoyable. It's so refreshing.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Peter is watching TV news.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, people in Beijing are coming out after two months. But people in Vienna have to stay at home now.
Another news story about the closing of the Bondi beach.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): People wanted to make one last swim? My wife and I visited the beach before. It isn't far away from our younger son's premises.
We hear vacuum cleaner noise.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife is busily cleaning our premises for our younger daughter's home quarantine to begin in days. And I've to vacate my study for a fortnight her exclusive use.
Sighing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Originally, I thought I had nowhere to go and have turned my home spots into my paradise. And before I can enjoy it, I've to vacant my paradise.
Peter takes another deep breath.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's like I've to move out, having just moved in. Quite a lot of stuff to move about...
His WIFE enters, looking at Peter's papers, files, and guitars here and there.
WIFE: When are you going to clear them?
Act 3
INT. STUDY - CONTINOUS
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't like moving papers at all...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My current interest is to keep myself fit through dancing.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's quite a challenge and discipline to co-ordinate one's muscles to move through certain positions that are aesthetic and have emotional appeal.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Upon reflection, I believe it is a great activity for me to continue to pursue, particularly now that I can't do my monthly travels.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I think it's in our DNA that we like to go here and there. To be away from my study for a fortnight shouldn't be paradise lost for me.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me set myself free and do better in my art in motion.
Peter smiles.
FADE OUT.
