FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - DAY
PETER wakes up.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, I saw strange images in my dream again, but I couldn't detect that I was dreaming.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It seems that there're unlimited possibilities inside me, ... my psyche...,my mind...or my soul.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd) : I believe my soul is responsible for much of my character, values and actions.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But does my soul belong to nature or nurture, or something deriving from them?
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In my field of intellectual property (IP), people were confused whether IP was goods or services. In law and in fact, IP manifest in both goods and services.
Act 2
INT. SWIMMING POOL - DAY
Peter is swimming freestyle, turning his head so that his mouth is slightly out of the water to breathe. He turns to one side.
PETER (V.O.): The weatherman forecasts thunderstorms today, but the sun is out now.
Peter turns to the other side.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): How come I can see another sun?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I see, it's a reflection from a nearby high-rise building.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The dark side of anything, including the human mind, can be lighted up.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When under pressure, when pushed to the limit, the dark side may reveal itself, leading to the most extreme form of human behaviour.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It can range from the betrayal of someone one loves to the betrayal of one's own country.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the large domain of all sorts of competition, there're always somebody applying their skills in inappropriate ways to come head and shoulder above the rest.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In politics, there're opportunists willing to do what right-thinking ones wouldn't do. And therefore, no competition.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Everyone is different in his/her nature and nurture. While humans genetics are amoral, their environment and experiences aren't.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): One moral virtue is not to beat others no-matter-what, but to live an ethical life.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But it's difficult for humans to change their initial mindset.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Thus, a political strategy to destroy people is to control their minds eg through education, enslaving them in the dark side of their minds so that they don't see any issue in doing wrongful acts.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While everything is learnable and people can be enlightened, some won't engage in their soul-making.
Peter shakes his head sideways.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
His laptop in front of him, Peter is watching TV. We hear: ...children in school are taught to hate their own country..."
PETER (V.O.): In US too? What a surprise to hear that statement on US' Independence Day. I used to think that's Hong Kong problem only.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Further, the unpatriotic ones behave like fascist. They're intolerant of their political opponents and would use violence.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The new environment and new experience in Hong Kong should provide conditions to light up the dark side of their minds and they'd do some soul-making.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Those not-so-stupid have already done that before July 1, 2020.
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - NIGHT
Peter lies in bed.
PETER (V.O.): During my waking life, my rationality takes the lead. During my non-waking life, my psyche is in charge.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Whether waking or non-waking, my heart beats like the bass chords. And my soul creates inner images and callings, like music and lyrics.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My soul-making is near transcendental.
Peter sleeps.
