  2. Act 1

  3. INT. STUDY - 09:00

  4. PETER works behind a computer.

  5. PETER (V.O.): I try to prioritize what's on my schedule. Let me work out a second draft domain name decision before attending a meeting at HKUST.


  7. Peter is chatting with the SECRETARIAT.

  8. PETER: The way all of you work reminds me of my days working in the Law Reform Commission secretariat.

  9. Meeting. Peter reads a Powerpoint slide on a wall screen. Then he takes a look of a portrait hanging near it.

  10. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's Marvin Cheung, the immediate past council chair.

  11. Recalling.

  12. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I engaged him once when I was briefing Executive Councillors on a Bill. I found him a positive and warm person.

  13. Act 2


  15. Using his hands to cover his eyes, Peter observes the sculpture entitled "Circle of Time".

  16. PETER (V.O.): Using the sun's ray to tell time, the Sundial is one of humankind's earliest inventions.

  17. Peter captures a photo of it.

  18. INT. STUDY - 14: 30

  19. Peter has just finished a telephone conversation.

  20. PETER (V.O.): Surprise, I've got a new brief on human rights.

  21. INT. RESTAURANT - 15:00

  22. Having Wonton noodles and Red Bean Ice, Peter checks the numerals on his Investment List.

  23. PETER (V.O.): Well, a rising market. Someone work for me while I'm not working for money.

  24. INT. STUDY - 16:00

  25. Checking a message, Peter looks a little unhappy.

  26. PETER (V.O.): A client wants me to give priority to his probate case.

  27. After some reading and researching, Peter engages in a lengthy conversation.

  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A job is a job, even when I work in retirement.

  29. INT. SWIMMING POOL - 20:00

  30. Peter is swimming frog style.

  31. PETER (V.O.): For over 40 years, I worked to live. I was so busy that I neglected making a good life.

  32. Swimming.

  33. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Working used to be my a way to pay for a living.

  34. Swimming freestyle.

  35. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife still has the impression that I'm a workaholic and would do anything.

  36. Swimming.

  37. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But now, I don't have dark hair and I've back pain.

  38. INT. SITTING ROOM - 21:00

  39. Peter is in thoughts.

  40. PETER (V.O.): When did Marvin Cheung pass away? He created lots of public value.

  41. Peter researches with his smartphone.

  42. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): He died in Sept 2014, at the age of 67.

  43. Pausing.

  44. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I ceased active service in 2014, and now I'm 67.

  45. Pausing.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's time I rescheduled my priorities.

  47. Act 3

  48. INT. STUDY - 22:00

  49. Watching TV at times, Peter types on this laptop.

  50. PETER (V.O.): I won't refine my second draft domain name decision tonight.

  51. Pausing.

  52. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I need to find time to create. It makes me feel good to be alive.

  53. Peter continues creating.

  54. INT. BEDROOM - 23:30

  55. Peter takes a look of the bedside clock.

  56. PETER (V.O.): The hands on the clock are my Sundial at night.

  57. Pausing.

  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I take midnight as my balance between work and life.

  59. Peter yawns a little.

  60. FADE OUT
