EXT. ROADS - MORNING
Driving a blue car, PETER is listening to the radio.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, today is the 15th day of the 1st month of the Chinese New Year - the Spring Lantern Festival. It's the final day of New Year celebrations.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): There're many folklore regarding the origin of this traditional cultural practice.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the early days of its beginning, youngster and matchmakers went to public places in the hope of finding or matching love.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But it seems that Chinese have been westernised. Valentine's Day is much more relevant than the Spring Lantern Festival.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Perhaps, the smell of roses is a lot better than the smell of burning oil.
Act 2
INT. STUDY - LATER
Studying files, Peter jots notes.
PETER (V.O.): Before enjoying the Spring Lantern Festival, I'd better do some professional work first.
Working.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Okay, my preparation for the coming trial is largely done.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me reward myself by filling up my stomach.
INT. RESTAURANT - AFTERNOON
Peter is checking the menu.
PETER (V.O.): I love Wonton noodles and Red Bean Dessert Soup.
After checking the number of customers, Peter goes to the CASHIER.
PETER: Wonton noodles set. Takeaway please.
Peter pays.
PETER (V.O.): Eating at home is safer.
INT. KITCHEN - LATER
Listening to radio music, Peter enjoys the food he loves.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, the program features a composer whom I know. He was two years senior to my then wife-to-be at the Music Department of CUHK.
Listening.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): These are works he composed in the late 1970s. I was working in the squatter control unit , demolishing illegal structures.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): While Sharon admired him, I envied him a lot.
Peter finishes every bit of the noodles and the dessert.
INT. STUDY - LATER
Peter is back to work again.
PETER (V.O.): Now, let me consider and draft my decision concerning a domain name dispute. I've to hand it down in early March.
Examining texts on the computer screen, Peter researches with his phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My decision must be fair, impartial and authentic.
Typing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My first rough draft is taking shape. I feel good that I should have to prepare for another court hearing.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Do I really love what I do?
EXT. TSIM SHA TSUI AREA - EVENING
Walking along the promenade, Peter takes photos of the Victoria Harbour.
PETER (V.O.): The highlight is to take photos near the Clock Tower
Arriving at the Clock Tower, Peter looks shocked.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No Spring Lantern Festival decorations!
Peter looks frustrated.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I had expected capture nice video clips featuring the ox here.
Act 3
EXT. ROADS - NIGHT
Sitting on the upper deck of a bus, Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): I'd mine my music video, featuring the Spring Lantern Festival. The visuals were nearly all captured at the Clock Tower venue.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As to the audio, it's a minor key love song. I wrote it from my heart. I felt love found me not at my best, but in my mess.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And all good things, including every year's celebrations and possibly the traditional Spring Lantern Festival, have to come to an end.
Signing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Finding love, especially a lasting and matching one, without looking for it, is a romantic lie.
